Details on the Remake

According to Biohazard Declassified, they received an anonymous email about the remake. The email claims the game, tentatively titled "Biohazard: Resident Evil 1," will have a slower pace than the Resident Evil 2 Remake. It will feature a third-person camera and delve deeper into the original game's lore.

The email also states that each zombie in the game will have a unique model, due to the smaller number of enemies. This change aims to make encounters more memorable and challenging. The game will also reintroduce "Crimson Heads," more powerful zombie variants that return after being killed.

Furthermore, the remake will eliminate pre-rendered backgrounds. Instead, each room will load background assets dynamically as players open doors. This change is intended to improve visuals and lighting throughout the game.

Insider Confirmation

Dusk Golem confirmed the rumors on social media, stating that the Resident Evil 1 Remake is in production and is planned to release in 2026. Golem mentioned the remake will be in third person and hinted it would align with the franchise's 30th anniversary celebrations.

While Golem has a history of accurate leaks, such as with Silent Hill 2 Remake and Resident Evil: Village, some of their information has been less reliable. Therefore, these details should be taken with caution until an official announcement from Capcom.

Interestingly, Golem also mentioned that Resident Evil 9 is expected to be revealed soon and might release next year. He shared that the game has been in development for about seven years, with a potential release in January if previous rumors hold true.
