Elden Ring has just revealed a brand new Bloodborne-like enemy that will be coming to the game's first and last expansion, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
The developer of the soulslike game, FromSoftware, sparked excitement and speculation among fans of the franchise with its latest revelation. Elden Ring is an open-world fantasy action RPG that has had a loyal fan base since it was released.
New Shadow of the Erdtree Enemy
The game features an expansive open world that players can explore and it also has a variety of mini-dungeons and can be played cooperatively with other people. Elden Ring immerses you in a rich narrative that is centered around the restoration of the shattered Elden Ring.
Players, guided by the maiden Melina, will have to embark on a journey in order to hunt Demigods to acquire their Great Runes. You will ultimately have to reach the Royal Capital and unlock the secrets of the Elden Ring that is nestled at the base of the Erdtree, according to GameRant.
Following the successful launch of Elden Ring, the developer is releasing the first and final expansion on June 21, 2024. The new Bloodborne-like enemy that was unveiled is described as "The abandoned and tragic who forage beneath the umbra pray for the embrace of a new master."

Alongside the eerie description is an image that showcases a cloaked figure who wields a cane and has a large glowing head that gives off an otherworldly aura. Fans of the game have drawn comparisons with creatures found in Bloodborne such as Winter Lanterns and Garden of Eyes.
Winter Lanterns in Bloodborne are haunting creatures that have tall, slender bodies and multiple glowing eyes. They also emit an eerie hum and sing when they spot players and will rapidly fill your frenzy meter.
Several Fan Theories
The new enemy will soon be joining the other creatures that players will face in Elden Ring, including serpent snails that spit at you, ulcerated spirits, and a big pair of hands. Some fans have already started to theorize about the design aspect of the creature, said Rock Paper Shotgun.
Some think that the glowing balls inside the creature's head, which also dangle on its beard, are things that it foraged throughout its journey. For now, players can only speculate as to how these can factor into the monster's fighting style when it releases with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
There are also online users who believe that the new monster will spam status effects, owing to the environment that it is found in, which looks like a swamp that may or may not be poisonous. The Shadow of the Erdtree was first announced in February and there is still not much information about it so far.
The Shadow of the Erdtree focuses a lot on gold as its key theme as it is seen pouring out of the large Erdtree in the main artwork and is seen in new spells. Many fans of the game have also speculated that this could potentially link to Miquella's Unalloyed Gold, according to Eurogamer.
