Ubisoft Seemingly Leaks Assassin's Creed Shadows Release Date in Latest Trailer

Ubisoft has seemingly leaked the release date for its upcoming game, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was previously known by the nickname Assassin's Creed Red.

The latest entry in the franchise is set in Japan and is rumored to be released on Nov 15, 2024, based on screencaps of the description attached to the soon-to-revealed trailer's YouTube placeholder page.

The date itself has since been removed from the description but there have already been many accounts of its existence that fans are inclined to believe it was indeed a mistake. The company had previously shared that the game will launch this fiscal year, which is sometime before March 2025.

This comes as every single previous mainline entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise has launched in either October or November.

Launching in the second-to-last month of the year would give Assassin's Creed Shadows some breathing room against Star Wars Outlaws, which is another big Ubisoft title launching this year, according to GamesRadar.

For now, the metadata for Assassin's Creed Shadows' Ubisoft Store listing seemed to suggest that the latest game in the franchise will be launching across PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

However, there have also been reports spreading that say the game will fully ditch the PlayStation 4 and instead favor current-gen platforms.

It is also likely that this information will either be confirmed or debunked sometime soon as the cinematic trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to be released on May 15, 2024.

The game, which was also known as Codename Red for the last year-and-a-half, was first revealed in September 2022. It came alongside two other unnamed Assassin's Creed games, Hexe, which focuses on the supernatural, and Jade, which is a mobile game set in China in 215 BC.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is set in feudal Japan, which is a shift in locale that had many fans immediately excited, said the PCGamer.

Other New Information

On top of the release date, there was also other information about Assassin's Creed Shadows that was leaked, including its Season Pass and DLC prices. A dataminer known as @Ubisoft_Frax outlined several new details and prices regarding the latest game in the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will reportedly launched with at least two post-launch new expansions that will cost fans $25 each or they can buy the Season Pass for $40. Other than this, prices for the upcoming Helix currency to purchase in-game items were also shown.

The cheapest is $5 for 500 Helix and the most expensive is $50 for 6,600 Helix. Despite this, it is still unclear on how the upcoming game's content will be priced in-game. However, it is believed that the currency will be used inside Infinity, which is the central hub for Assassin's Creed.

There were also some images that were shown that apparently revealed various cosmetic items that players can buy via earnable and purchasable currencies. These include the likes of cosmetic changes to your character's clothing, weapons, and others, according to Insider Gaming.
