The upcoming title offers players a chance to go on an adventure of discovery within a realistic, open-world sandbox that presents various survival challenges.

The game also features three distinctive gameplay features, masks that allow you to control NPCs, dynamic tribesmen and tribal management, and a diverse physics-based combat system.

The various masks available in the game let players control the majority of the NPCs found in the overworld.

You can possess them, take over their bodies, and transform yourself into anyone you want. As you progress, you will discover more masks that embody the spirit of ancient heroes and unlock various abilities, according to Gadget.

These include being able to harness the gift of immortality, walking among enemies while being concealed in the shadows, fire homing missiles, and many more. In Soulmask, players will be able to recruit up to 20 tribesmen, each with a distinct personality.

There will also be opportunities for you to recruit bloodthirsty warriors, dexterous hunters, ingenious craftsmen, or problematic alcoholics.

The game uses artificial intelligence and command support for automation and customization of clan members' farming, harvesting, assembly line production, base patrol, automatic repair, and maintenance.

On the other hand, the game's physics-based combat system includes eight weapon types and 75 skills that players can obtain. The sheer variety of abilities lets you customize your fighting style to how you want.

Soulmask blends various gaming genres, including survival, RPG, and sandbox, and features a 64-square-kilometer map that takes players back to the Mayan era. It also features seven different biomes, said PCGamesN.

A Diverse Combat System

In the early stages of the game, as is customary in the survival genre, you will start out with absolutely nothing. You will have to explore the nearby area, gather various resources, and build a small encampment while also expanding your clan and engaging in third-person battles.

The business manager of the game's publisher, Qooland Games' Elson Soh, said that Soulmask is aiming to use its unique NPCs to cut out some of the busy work that players have been doing for decades in various survival titles.

The game's revolutionary AI system makes managing your tribesmen much easier compared to other games in the genre. It lets players efficiently handle tasks such as farming, production, and defense.

The innovative approach lets players lead their tribe while also avoiding getting bogged down in mundane management details. Soulmask's combat system is also tailored to every player's style, letting them fight how they want, according to BleedingCool.

While the early access release of Soulmask is on June 18, 2024, players who are eager to play the game can now wishlist it on Steam. You can also download the free demo right now to try it out for yourself.
