Bethesda Game Studios released a new update for Starfield that fixes one of the worst things in the game, its maps.
Currently, the lack of readable maps is one of many players' complaints with the spacefaring game and others have gotten lost no matter how many times they visited the same place. This is now fortunately changing with the latest patch, which is still in beta.
New Starfield Update
The update will also adjust several other annoying issues that players have experienced within the game. However, the developer of Starfield so far does not have a confirmed release date for the patch but it is expected to come relatively soon.
In the latest Starfield patch notes, a Microsoft representative said that they have heard players' feedback and made some big improvements to surface maps. This means that players will always know where to go and will no longer "get lost" on the way to their destinations, according to Polygon.
Another update that is included in the patch is expanded difficult options, which is also considered one of the best changes. Bethesda showed an example of this, which is making ground combat harder but ship combat easier.
One other major change is the ability to decorate ships similar to how outposts are outfitted, removing the previous way of decorating the vessels. Players can now simply use tools to place stuff exactly where they want it to go.
On top of these major changes, the latest update also brings a new way to manage inventories along with new traits and dialogue settings. People who prioritize frame rate will also be able to play Starfield at 60 fps, making gameplay feel much smoother.

There are also a lot of bug fixes and adjustments added in the latest update, including general stability and performance improvements and improvements for Character fleeing, avoidance, and pathfinding, said Bethesda.
An issue that could sometimes cause a ship's maximum shield capacity to appear less after loading a save with a certain assigned crew has also been fixed. The issue where invisibility could persist on a companion's weapon after the effect has ended has been removed.
A Variety of New Features and Changes
Related to graphics, the update makes exterior ship lights now appear as intended in Photomode and during travel sequences. There were also various shadow issues, such as flickering and precision, that have been fixed.
The difficulty options added in the new update include letting players access their ship cargo through their normal inventory. You can also increase your carry capacity, restock the credits that vendors carry, and change how much you have to depend on food in order to survive while out on your space adventures.
For players who would rather not fuss around with the details, there will be a new Extreme difficulty setting. This is said to be a step up from the previous top level of challenge Very Hard and will also award bonus experience accordingly.
For those who are just starting a New Game Plus run, the new update adds the ability to change their character's appearance and respec traits when you enter the Unity, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
