Destiny 2: The Final Shape just released a new trailer showcasing what players expect to see in the culmination of the game's 10-year storytelling and is narrated by the recently revived Cayde-6.
The latest trailer includes a lot of the new information that Bungie had previously revealed about the update's new Prismatic subclass and enemy race, the Dread. Cayde-6 narrates the trailer is no longer in comic relief mode and takes a much more serious tone.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape Trailer
Despite the footage, it is still unclear exactly what role Cayde-6 will have in The Final Shape's story. However, some fans have already theorized that he will guide them through the inferno and paradise inside the Traveler.
Bungie's recent reveals have generated so much hype about The Final Shape among players and fans of the game. This also comes as community sentiment is relatively positive with the Into the Light content that players are currently experiencing, according to Forbes.
The newest trailer showcases the inside of the Pale Heart of the Traveler and is seen as a weird and somewhat distorted reflection of the world that Guardians have explored for the last decade. It is made even more unsettling by the creeping, corrupting influence of the Witness that is spreading across the area.

Cayde-6 was the upbeat, and joke-telling Vanguard leader who lost his life during the Forsaken expansion and was later resurrected within the Traveler by unknown means. He is voiced by Nathan Fillion, who reprises the role after Nolan North briefly took over during the Forsaken expansion.
The trailer also showed other bits of information and one noticeable thing was that the perspective of the camera constantly shifted and reoriented as the landscape itself was cut apart and put back together.
Returning Friends and Foes
Cayde-6 also talks about how the very ground beneath his feet and the sky above his head are just memories. This implies that the area is more illusory than it first appears. But then, the ground flips upside down and Guardians can be seen traversing in the distance, said GameSpot.
The trailer also features Savathun, Caiatl, and Mithrax, who are cut together in such a way that it looks like they are standing together against a single threat. The latter two are alien former enemies of the human Guardians who have since joined the Vanguard to form a coalition against the Witness. But Savathun's appearance is relatively new.
While her actions have been somewhat helpful against the Witness, Savathun has always been an enemy. She is someone that good guys bargain with but always try to keep at arm's length when they are not actively trying to kill her.
Players will also be accompanied by Ikora and Zavala as they make their way through the Witness' portal into the Traveler. The footage also shows that some former foes are making a comeback.
These include Kelgorath, a Hive Knight, who is loyal to Xivu Arath, who is a Hive god aligned with the Witness. He has shown up several times within the game as an enemy and has been beaten each time, according to The Loadout.
