The Wolf Among Us 2: Telltale Games Releases New Screenshots After Delay

Telltale Games released new screenshots for The Wolf Among Us 2 following a delay last year that now showcase the long-in-the-works sequel to the original title.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is once again set in the world of Bill Willingham's Fables comics and was originally announced in 2017. However, the development of the sequel stopped when Telltale Games closed down the year after.

While that appeared to have been the end of the game, 2019 brought news that Telltale was being revived under new management. This was a surprise development that would later see The Wolf Among Us 2 being re-announced.

Fans previously got their first proper look at The Wolf Among Us 2 in the form of a trailer that was released in 2022. But as the game's 2023 release date came closer, the studio announced that it would be delaying the launch to avoid burnout and crunch.

It unfortunately looked like the project as a whole could have run aground a second time last October following reports that suggest development had been heavily impacted by layoffs at Telltale Games, according to Eurogamer.

But then, fans received a follow-up statement from the studio confirming that "all projects currently in development are still in production, which brings us to today and the unexpected reemergence of The Wolf Among Us 2 - albeit in a relatively demure fashion."

Telltale Games later added that they have been quiet as they focused on the promise of The Wolf Among Us 2. The studio noted that they are not yet able to provide a big update regarding the sequel but released four new images for fans to dig into, said GameInformer.

The first game in the franchise was an Episodic, which is a choice-based graphic adventure game. The Wolf Among Us was initially released in 2013 and is considered to be one of Telltale Games' most interesting and engaging games in the genre.

The title is filled with interesting characters, exceptional writing, amazing music, and an instantly recognizable style that makes it a masterpiece of a game. The Wolf Among Us is based on Fables and focuses on a variety of different characters from various fairy tales and folklore.

An Original Masterpiece

It is set in a New York City borough that is known as Fabletown after they were exiled from their own homelands. Most of the comic deals with the characters themselves, collectively known as "fables" as they try to stay hidden from regular humans, who are known as Mundies.

The game also tells the story of the return of the Adversary, who is a terrifyingly deadly enemy that is responsible for the fables' exile. Some of the fables blend in through the use of so-called "glamours."

These are spells that change their appearance so that Mundies cannot easily identify them at a glance. On the other hand, fables that cannot get glamorous or cannot pass as humans are simply sent to a place that is known as The Farm.

The primary character of the game is Bigby Wolf, who is the sheriff of Fabletown and was formerly known as the Big Bad Wolf. He had terrorized characters like Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs. He was pardoned for his past actions and has taken a human form.

He then put his past behind him and has worked to keep the citizens of Fabletown safe while also navigating through the mistrust and fear that are pointed at him. He serves as the only playable character in the game, according to Tiger Media Net.
