Burmy Forms and Evolution Mechanics

Burmy comes in three distinct forms: Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak, and Trash Cloak. Each form is tied to specific types of locations where they can be found. For instance, you're likely to encounter Plant Cloak Burmy in grassy areas, while Sandy Cloak Burmy prefers beaches, and Trash Cloak Burmy lurks in urban environments.

Note: These forms are purely aesthetic in Pokémon Go and don't affect gameplay mechanics.

When it comes to evolution, Burmy's gender determines its evolutionary path. If you have a female Burmy, it will evolve into Wormadam, retaining its original cloak type. On the other hand, male Burmy will evolve into Mothim, regardless of its cloak type. This means that if you're aiming for a specific evolution, you'll need to pay attention to the gender of your Burmy.

Acquiring Burmy and its Evolutions

Finding Burmy in the wild might require some patience and exploration, as its appearance is influenced by location. However, for trainers looking to expedite the process, Burmy occasionally rotates into raids during special events. Keep an eye out for these opportunities to increase your chances of encountering this elusive Pokémon.

While Burmy can be shiny, stumbling upon a shiny variant is a rare occurrence. If you're determined to add a shiny Burmy to your collection, be prepared for a potentially lengthy hunt. Additionally, while Burmy forms are readily available in the wild, sightings of its evolutions, Wormadam and Mothim, have been scarce. It remains to be seen if they will appear in the wild in the future.
