Destiny 2 has released a new trailer for the game's The Final Shape expansion, showcasing a lot of new content, including a new subclass, weapons, enemy factions, and more!
The game's developer, Bungie, showcased gameplay footage of Guardians who are seen wielding both light and darkness at the same time. The new trailer is part of a wider information bomb regarding Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape Expansion
The upcoming expansion promises to conclude the decade-long War of Light and Darkness story arc, where players also learn more about The Witness and additional exotics. Destiny 2: The Final Shape was first revealed in August last year and was originally planned with a February launch date.
However, it was later delayed to June 4 and it is shaping up to be one of the largest expansions for Destiny 2 so far. This is also fitting considering the story that players have been enjoying for the past decade is expected to conclude with the latest update, according to GameInformer.
The press release also noted that alongside the three new Light Supers that were previously announced, Guardians will wield the Light and Darkness together for the first time. They will use this to unleash the Prismatic subclass. This is a new class that will introduce new options for players to enhance and customize their playstyles with the combination of multiple elements.
Bungie also noted that each class will get a unique grenade that combines multiple subclass elements as well. Warlocks will be given a Stasis/Void grenade, Titans will receive a Strand/Arc grenade, and Hunters will get a Solar/Stasis grenade.

The Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion will mark the first time in the game's history that players will be able to equip an exotic class item with exotic-level perks. Bungie noted that these buffs will be randomized and will take two features from existing exotic class items.
Additionally, when players fill light and dark power meters, they can unleash new moves such as a combination light/dark grenade that has new effects. In the preview trailer, there were some builds that were shown off that suggest a myriad of possibilities, said Forbes.
A Lot of New Content
A new enemy faction will be added in the expansion, known as The Dread, which is a warped mixture of all other races. Grims are flying bat units that are equipped with guns and are capable of suppressing players using their screech. Husks are giant blades that strike you and when they are killed the "wrong way," a Geist pops out of their corpse to chase players.
Weavers were previously Strand units that could pull players towards them and their counterparts, Attendants, can Stasis freeze you. It also appears that there is one more generic base soldier unit in the new race as well as Tormentors.
The game's developer describes the new Prismatic class as an "advanced" subclass with more Fragments, more Fragment slots, and much wider build crafting potential. While many players may find it difficult to use any other class, Bungie could add some buffs to other mono subclasses to bring them up to par, according to GamesRadar.
