Buckshot Roulette is a tabletop-esque experience that just recently came out on Steam after spending a few months being available on itch.io and already has thousands of positive reviews.
The bite-sized strategy gambling game became an instant hit on PC and has become one of the highest-rated games of the year. The game also doesn't cost you a fortune as it's only going for $3 and is even on sale now bringing its price down to $2.69!
Buckshot Roulette on Steam
While the entire game can be finished in under an hour, there are plenty of reasons why Buckshot Roulette has garnered more than 6,600 user reviews with a 96% positive score since launching on Steam on Apr. 4, 2024.
Buckshot Roulette was created by Mike Klubnika and is based on Russian Roulette and is quite literally a game about shooting yourself in the face using a shotgun, or rather, avoiding that particularly gruesome fate. Players will have to have their opponents swallow the live shells as they try to skirt around death with harmless blanks, according to GamesRadar.
The game takes place in a seed underground club and players are sat at a table and are told to sign a waiver with a monstrous dealer. There is a shotgun and a random assortment of other tools that can manipulate the weapon.

The player takes turns with the dealer looking down the barrel of the shotgun and pulling the trigger as they bet on using items carefully and being somewhat lucky at times in order to dodge the buckshot.
In the game, players and the monstrous dealer each have a set health pool, and every single round of buckshot removes one point from their remaining HP. The one who reaches zero hit points first will be the loser of the roulette.
A Thrilling Game of Chance
The latest version that launched on Steam attracted a new wave of players and added a lot of new features, including online leaderboard and gamepad support. Furthermore, the game's developer has hinted at plans to add a multiplayer mode in the future, said Game World Observer.
The items are what makes Buckshot Roulette different from typical Russian Roulette by giving players a little bit more control over the game of chance. For example, the magnifying glass gives players the opportunity to take a look at what kind of round the shotgun is currently holding. The handcuffs let you stop the dealer from playing the next round.
There are also many others that give the player a slight advantage over the monstrous figure on the other end of the table. However, these items do not completely take away the thrill of the game and do not ensure that you will live through the entire roulette.
Despite this, Buckshot Roulette offers a fun gaming session that lasts less than an hour each but will leave players wanting more as it offers great replayability outsmarting the dealer at the most opportune time makes for an overwhelming sense of achievement for most players, according to Fandomwire.
