Rift Wizard 2 Out on Steam Now! Brings Back Tough, Traditional Roguelike Mechanics

Rift Wizard 2 is now out on Steam and it brings with it back a tough, traditional roguelike wizard simulator that showcases a colorful world and complex character builds for players to enjoy.

The game lets players take control of a wizard who is immortal and jumps from each battle across the multiverse. They try to build up a repertoire of spells, skills, and magical artifacts that will hopefully synergize with each other to make the wizard even more powerful and keep him alive while also defeating their enemies.

Rift Wizard 2 has a vast array of spells for players to use and fill their spellbooks with, giving them a lot of options in dealing with enemies. The creatures that you face in the game have their own strange rules and abilities that make each encounter an enjoyable and non-repetitive fight.

It also brings a big-time upgrade in the franchise, which allows players to equip items, which is a huge part of the adventure. This adds a new layer of powers and abilities, bringing the sequel on par with some of the most popular roguelike games, such as Dead Cell, according to PCGamer.

The original game was released in 2021 and at the time, it was said to have sported simple pixel sprites that made it like an authentic-to-a-fault take on roguelike games. It had 25 randomly generated levels that were called realms and gave players the option to choose from 135 spells and 26 skills across 16 schools of magic.

Another highly popular roguelike game, Dead Cells, is also a pixel art classic where players take control of The Beheaded, who is an amorphous creature that can take over corpses to fight evil through an island prison. Throughout their journey, they can find and upgrade weapons, learn new skills, and figure out the story of the world.

In Dead Cells, players can access different areas once a certain item or skill is obtained and its layout also changes with each playthrough. If players die, they will lose all of their loot and weapons, but unlocking these items will make them available during gameplay.

The Game Pass edition of the game includes all of the free DLC that have been released throughout the title's life. On the other hand, the paid DLCs, including "Return to Castlevania," are so cheap that players may feel like they are already free, said Sportskeeda.

There are many upcoming new games and for PC, this is particularly true as a series of titles were releasd this March. The list includes a lot of console-exclusive ports that have made their way to Steam and various other launchers.

This is particularly good for players who do not own gaming consoles and have been missing out on some noteworthy titles. It also marks the beginning of how the lines between PC and console are starting to blur.

Microsoft has started to express its desire to port its impressive games library to both Playstation and Xbox users. Game Pass in particular has made things even more lucrative and there are many series that have come on PC that were never expected to be available, according to GameRant.
