Released on December 4, 2020, Suzerain is developed by Torpor Games, who also published the game alongside Fellow Traveller. As previously mentioned, it is a visual novel, and it takes a choose-your-own-adventure format. What this essentially means is that your choices matter greatly and will affect where the story goes.

You, as the player, will take on the role of President Anton Rayne, and what you basically have to do is to lead the nation of Sordland. Sounds simple?

Of course not, especially since this is your first term as president!

Despite the lack of experience, you'll have to make critical decisions on matters pertaining to security, economy, welfare, and more. You'll get to see the impact your decisions make. What kind of legacy will you leave behind?

Which Ending Will You Get?

As it is a choose-your-own-adventure game, there is more than one ending. In fact, there are nine major endings and more than 25 sub-endings!

Along the way, you will interact with more than 50 characters who have their own individual personalities and ideologies. You will have to make allies and protect yourself and your country against those who have hidden agendas.

Steam Reviews for Suzerain

As of press time, Suzerain has more than 6,400 user reviews on Steam. These reviews are described as "Very Positive" by the platform.

"The writing is exceptional, breathing life into characters who are not only richly detailed but also serve as archetypes representing their respective constituencies, government ministries, and political ideologies," user MattJPH says in a Steam review.

"My only complaint is that it's too short, which is a great complaint to have," user Arkadelaide says in a separate Steam review. "Fantastic game, wonderful storytelling, and just the right mix of hope and despair that makes you feel like your choices really do matter.
