Luigi's Mansion 2 HD: Everything We Know so Far

New Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Details Were Revealed During Nintendo's MAR10 Day

Nintendo recently announced details regarding Luigi's Mansion 2 HD during the company's MAR10 Day earlier this month.

The company shared new information about the new title, including an official release date, prices, story details, and many more. The latest game is basically a remaster of the one that was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013.

The new version of Luigi's Mansion 2 will be available for players using current Nintendo devices, which allows a new generation of gamers to share Luigi's plight and go on a haunting adventure. In the game, Mario's younger brother will face a continuous horde of ghosts that were turned hostile after the Dark Moon shattered.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is considered to be somewhat of a sequel to Luigi's Mansion 3, which was released in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch. While the titles do not share much of a connection, they are sequential and both have King Boo as the main antagonist, according to ScreenRant.

News about the latest remaster was first revealed in 2023 with a release window that was set for Summer 2024. In celebration of MAR10 Day, Nintendo also released a brand new trailer that teased what players could expect from the beefed-up version of Luigi's Mansion 2.

The release date for the 2013 remaster is on June 27, 2024, and will be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch consoles. The gaming company has also already made the remaster version available for pre-order on the official Nintendo Switch store, for $59.99.

The game so far does not have any other versions announced and the only one that players can buy is the standard digital edition. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will follow the original storyline where the younger Mario brother travels to Evershade Valley following a request from Professor E. Gadd.

Luigi will have to retrieve the missing shards of the Dark Moon that have been scattered across several distinct haunted mansions. Players will be equipped with the Poltergust 5000, which is a superpowered ghost-hunting tool that is used to suck up ghosts and blow air to search every nook and cranny of the mansions, said Gematsu.

A Haunting Adventure

Your adventure into these haunted mansions is made difficult by the hostile ghosts, which were previously docile due to the calming effects of the Dark Moon. The quirky professor who sent players into this adventure has been studying the friendly spirits before the incident.

The game also offers players the chance to team up with three others to take on the challenges of the ScareScraper, which is a haunted building that is filled with ghosts and challenges that are not seen in the main adventure.

On top of the new information regarding Luigis' Mansion 2 HD, MAR10 Day also revealed exciting news about the company's other games. One of these is a collaboration between LEGO and Nintendo.

LEGO showcased the Bowser Express Train set, which is the company's latest addition to its Mario-themed lineup. What makes this product even more exciting is that it has a clever switch mechanism that sends Boom Boom, one of Bowser's henchmen, spinning when Mario jumps on top of his head, according to GameTyrant.
