The Sims 4 received a new update which added a controversial feature that has angered the fans of this popular life simulation video game.

Aggressive Ad

Developer Maxis launched a pretty hefty patch for The Sims 4 that contains a boatload of bug fixes to make the game run more smoothly. However, one feature was added that has provoked the ire of the game's community. What is this feature?

Well, players who have updated their game clients to the latest version will find a new shopping cart button on the main interface. This new button makes it easier for players to purchase the many DLCs available for the game.

While the company sees it as a convenient way for players to purchase DLCs for The Sims 4, the community disagrees. Why? This button pulses continuously, especially for players who still lack any of the premium downloadable content.

Fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions. User AwesimSimmerGRL said that although they do not mind the new feature on the game's UI, the fact that it pulses continuously makes it quite distracting.

User Danielle_Mary_ said that of all the issues Maxis has yet to fix, the company wasted time developing a feature that does not benefit the players at all.

Another user has an interesting take on this issue. They said that the feature is likely added at the behest of EA's CEO, Andrew Wilson. They added that Wilson does not understand video games at all and urges the developers to "fire the guy." For those who do not know, EA is the publisher of The Sims 4.
