Crafting and Using Storage Containers
Early in the game, you'll gain access to the Angling Basket blueprint. With just 10x Plant Fiber, you can craft this storage container and place it strategically in your home realm. This is particularly advantageous as you'll frequently return to your base after each adventure.
Upon entering your first Antiquarian Realm, locate the Essence Trader NPC who offers the Weathered Trunk blueprint. Craft this storage container using 2x Lumber and 2x Ingot, obtained by processing Wood Bundles and Ores respectively. Keep in mind that these are early-game storage solutions, and as you explore more realms, you'll unlock advanced craftable items for improved storage.
Be cautious about the "Container Permissions - Survivors" option. Activating this allows NPC followers to collect materials from the container, potentially causing confusion. We recommend leaving it deactivated to retain control over your stored materials.
Using companions as storage
Another effective method of managing inventory storage is by utilizing NPC companions. You can recruit these companions by assisting survivor NPCs in the Faewild. Once recruited, your companion will provide an additional 20 slots for storage, inclusive of their equipped gear.
To streamline this process:
- Open your inventory by pressing Tab.
- Click on the bottom-left "ABC" button until "Decreasing Weight" is selected.
- Transfer the heaviest items to your companion, and consider unequipping unnecessary gear for additional storage space.
Notably, NPC followers won't experience encumbrance, regardless of the weight of the items they carry, and will teleport to your location to keep up.
