Things are getting out of hand in Call of Duty: Warzone as cheaters have become so brazen about using hacks to ruin the fun for everyone. The recent uptick in cheaters seems to have been caused by the game's anti-cheat system being disabled. This is according to a prominent cheat creator.

Ricochet Down?

Raven Software, along with other developers under Activision's umbrella, has been hard at work to develop the Ricochet anti-cheat system. This in-house software suite uses a multi-faceted approach to thwart hackers from ruining Call of Duty games, including Modern Warfare III and Warzone.

If the system detects that a player's PC is running any cheats, it would not only flag the player but may prevent them from logging in as well.

That being said, a cheat creator that goes by the name "GoldenModz1998" has disclosed that Ricochet is currently disabled, which means that players with nefarious intent can enable their cheats without being booted out of the game.

It seems that what GoldenModz1998 said has some truth to it considering that many cheaters have been running amok, especially in Ranked Play.

Cheaters Aplenty

Call of Duty: Warzone streamers took to Twitter to post videos about their recent encounters with cheaters. Fifakill shared a clip that showcased a cheater who was literally flying on air. X/Twitter user FrenZy replied to the tweet and said that if a player intends to cheat, why not go all out?

User BuggsGunny provided a possible explanation as to why this is happening in Call of Duty: Warzone right now. Apparently, the Ricochet anti-cheat system had been falsely banning players. "With a good anti-cheat comes false reports unfortunately. Can't have it both ways," they added.

Popular Call of Duty streamer Tyler "FaZe aBeZy" Pharris tweeted that Ranked matches are "miserable to play" at the moment with the number of cheaters populating the lobbies.

Despite the overwhelming number of legitimate players complaining about the recent cheating problem, Raven Software has not made any statement yet regarding the issue. Hopefully, the company can address this problem sooner rather than later.
