The Mid-Season Update 1.6.0 for The Finals is now live. Its main highlight is a new limited-time event where players can take the spotlight for themselves. The issue now is, can they?

New Event

Steal the Spotlight is the newest limited-time event in The Finals. In this mode, players will take time out of the group festivities and go solo into an arena where they are given a preset loadout.

The main objective is to go to the cashout stations to deposit the money they have at hand. Things are not going to be easy, though, as these stations are riddled with tripwires and turrets that can halt the player's advance.

However, should the player be successful in this endeavor, they are eligible to receive a "dazzling" cosmetic bundle for their efforts.

By the looks of it, players will have to be crafty with whatever weapons they are given. Otherwise, they risk not getting those sweet cosmetic items!

Weakened Senses

The Finals Mid-Season Update 1.6.0 brought a pretty significant nerf to Recon Senses as well. For the uninitiated, Recon Senses is a specialization only available to Mediums that essentially work like a wallhack. This allows Medium players to have information about the whereabouts of their opponents. The effect lasts for 10 seconds.

The thing is, Medium players do not utilize the full 10 seconds. In fact, they only use it for a couple of seconds to peek where the enemies are, then disable it until it is needed again later.

Some players have been asking the developers to do something about it. It seems that their pleas were not brushed to the side as this patch implemented a pretty huge nerf to the said specialization.

Now, instead of being able to spot enemies on the entire map, Recon Senses now has a limited range of only 30 meters. As if that's not worse for those who use it, opposing players who get detected by Recon Senses are now notified to keep them on their toes; sort of like a heads-up.
