After cooking in Steam Beta for a couple of weeks, Starfield's biggest update yet has finally launched! Bethesda Game Studios implemented a plethora of changes, most notably the improved lighting effects on 73 locations in the game, as well as fixes to a lot of quests.

Lighting Improved

One of the highlights of Update 1.9.51.0 is the improved lighting of various locations in Starfield. As to what these locations are, Redditor DinDisco shared some in-game screenshots for those who are interested to know about the lighting improvements.

Basically, certain areas like the Red Mile and New Homestead now look brighter than ever. Some caves have also received some improvements, making them more navigable.

Quest Fixes

Update 1.9.51.0 has resolved a number of bugs concerning quests in Starfield. For example, the bug that caused the data transfer sequence in "Eye of the Storm" to not commence after placing the Data Core has finally been fixed.

In another quest, Failure to Communicate, the issue that prevented players from completing the quest if they defeated all of the members of the defense pact has been addressed.

Despite the many quest fixes in Update 1.9.51.0, players have still encountered some annoying bugs. As one Redditor pointed out, the "Power from Beyond" quest is still bugged, particularly the part where there are no temples in sight.
