The Walking Dead's Carl Streams Himself Playing League of Legends

Yes, you read that headline correctly. The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs, who plays young teen Carl Grimes, streamed himself playing League of Legends late last night, gaining over 20,000 viewers through the duration of his broadcast on Twitch.

It's easy to forget that these actors and celebrities who entertain us on our televisions every week are just normal people with their own interests too, and Riggs' apparently include League of Legends sessions with his buddies.

There's an archived video of one of play sessions below, and you can check out several others on his channel. Carl--I mean, Chandler--plays under the handle "ChairHandler", so keep an eye out for him when you're playing with the public!

It's a win for the more hardcore crowd to have a recognizable actor from such a popular TV series playing a game like League of Legends and not something more mainstream. I doubt there would have been as much surprise or attention surrounding it if we found out he played Call of Duty, for example. I'm not sure how good he is at League of Legends (though it looks like he's a frequent player), but it's a fun story nonetheless!

Riggs' character Carl has taken on an increasingly significant role as The Walking Dead seasons have worn on, but I'll refrain from writing more to prevent any potential spoilers. I will say that in its fourth season, The Walking Dead has delivered some of its best moments yet. It has gained some criticism over the last two seasons, but there were certainly some genuinely good episodes of television from the show this year.
