1. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Set to release on Jan. 18, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the latest installment in the beloved series. The game introduces a new protagonist, Sargon, a young member of a warrior clan named The Immortals. This semi-open world side-scrolling adventure promises all the hack n’ slash platformer goodness of the series’ classic titles. The game includes Metroidvania elements and offers several time-based powers for both combat and platforming purposes.
2. Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones, set to release on Feb. 16, is a swashbuckling pirate RPG set during the 1700’s “golden age of piracy”. Players start as a lowly grunt and climb the ladder to become a fearsome captain of the seven seas by raising their notoriety and causing some mayhem. The game features a progression system where players complete missions to level up.
3. Project U
Project U, also known as Project Pathfinder, is a session-based co-op shooter where unity and teamwork are crucial for victory. Players can select one of four different classes of heroes: Attacker, Defender, Medic, and Support, each with different abilities. The game includes missions that involve killing AI enemies, defending targets, capturing camps, and more.
4. XDefiant
XDefiant is Ubisoft’s take on the Call of Duty style FPS. The game aims to launch with multiple maps that fuel arena shooter-style battles. There will be both a casual and ranked mode. In addition, crossplay support has also been confirmed. The release date is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to be released no earlier than 2023, but it could easily be as late as 2024.
5. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade
Last but not least, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is set in the third century BC, during the time of one of the first unified empires in China. This mobile title looks to take the long-running series to a location that fans have been clamoring for. The game features deep character customization options and aims to capture the home-console Assassin’s Creed feel.
