Universal Buster Sword and Diverse Cosmetics
One of the main attractions of this crossover event is the inclusion of the famed Buster Sword, serving as a “universal” Heirloom available to every character. However, obtaining this revered weapon necessitates completion of all 36 cosmetic events during the Final Fantasy 7 Takeover within Apex Legends. Beyond mere aesthetics, the Buster Sword signifies a significant achievement within the event.
Additionally, the event will bring forth an array of new skins for popular legends like Wattson, Crypto, Horizon, and Newcastle. Players will witness creative renditions such as Newcastle cosplaying as Barrett and Horizon donning the appearance of Aerate, offering a fresh visual appeal to the game.
Materia Hop-Ups and Gameplay Additions
The Final Fantasy 7 Takeover will introduce five distinct Materia Hop-Ups, each with its own unique abilities color-coded for easy identification. These include healing attributes with the blue Materia, tactical insight provided by the yellow Materia, an electric wave discharge upon magazine reload with the green Materia, random critical hits facilitated by the purple Materia, and the summoning of the Nessie companion with the red Materia. These additions aim to diversify and enhance the gameplay experience during the event's dedicated mode.
The event's full trailer showcases the amalgamation of both universes and offers a glimpse into the gameplay and features awaiting participants.
