Elden Ring's 'Convergence' Mod Gets Massive Update, Adds New Equipment and More

Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by From Software widely known for its difficult boss battles and vast open world that players can explore to their hearts' content. Part of what makes it great is that players can install mods to improve their gameplay experience. Well, one such mod has received a massive update recently, which added a bunch of new stuff. The mod in question is none other than "Convergence."

Just Got a Whole Lot Better

For those who do not know, the Convergence mod is one of the most popular mods for Elden Ring. It basically adds a plethora of new stuff that players can enjoy, including 27 new classes, new equipment with unique skills and move sets, and new bosses that provide a more challenging experience, among others.

That said, Convergence has been updated to version 1.4. So, what's new? Well, a lot actually. One of the most notable is the addition of Tier 2 armor sets for non-magic classes. What's interesting about these new pieces of gear is that they grant players new abilities so long as they are not wearing weapons that scale with Faith (FTH) or INT (Intelligence).

The Ronin Armor, for example, grants Ronin's Precision when the above condition is met. This new ability buffs the player's poise damage by 30% for 15 seconds when they use a Crimson Flask.

The Scaled Armor grants Tarnished Endurance when players are not wearing INT/FTH-based weapons. This ability makes players immune to stagger and status build-up for 10 seconds if they use a Crimson Flask.

Aside from the new armor sets, Update 1.4 for the Convergence mod added several new spells, including Flaming Armament: Giantsflame, Morgott's Spear: Golden Order, Dragonkin's Devastation: Dragonkin, and Tibia's Conversion: Necromancer.

How about weapons? The good news is that the latest update for the popular mod does not disappoint in this department. There are seven new weapons that have been introduced in this update, each with its own unique move set.

Star Shadow is a new katana that allows players to kill enemies with strong thrusts and two-handed slashes. Its special skill, Umbral Stance, makes players invisible for a split second and then reappears to perform a series of slashes when pressing the heavy attack button.

Rimeheart is an axe and shield combo that lets players attack or defend at any time by pressing the appropriate inputs. Icy Fling is a skill that is only usable when you have the Rimeheart equipped. This skill lets players hurl an icy projectile at enemies; perfect for whenever foes try to escape.

The other weapons are:

  • Rosus' Harvester (Necro Scythe)

  • Hammer of Virtue (Golden Order Hammer)

  • Blade of Valor (Quality Straight Sword)

  • Daergraf's Opus (Dragonkin Fists)

  • Deathrite Dagger (Necro Dagger)

How to Install

Players who are interested in installing the Convergence mod can use its dedicated downloader from Nexus Mods. Choose a download destination that is different from the game folder, such as the Desktop or someplace else. Once the file is downloaded, unpack and navigate to the folder named "ConvergenceER." There should be a file that is called "launchmod_eldenring.bat." Run it to play the mod. That's it!
