Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader received a new patch that fixed a lot of issues with the game, including broken quests and cutscenes that prevent players from progressing through the campaign.

Developed by Owlcat Games, Rogue Trader is a classic RPG where players become the titular Rogue Traders, traveling to the multiple systems in the Koronus Expanse. Every decision the player makes during the campaign can alter how the game progresses, so those who want a story-rich game might find this one worth their money.

Heaps of Bug Fixes

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was released earlier this month, which means that the game still has a lot of bugs that need to be ironed out. Fortunately, Owlcat Games delivered a new patch that addressed multiple issues.

The gist of the game's latest update is fixing any quests that may have prevented players from completing specific missions. For example, the quest "A Reprieve from Torment," where players are tasked to save Heinrix in the Chasm, would sometimes fail unexpectedly prior to this patch. But now, players can complete the mission from start to finish without a hitch.

Additionally, the broken dialogue in the "Hunting Grounds" quest, which could lead to players getting stuck in the campaign, has now been resolved.

The company also made some adjustments to the difficulty modifiers for skill checks, such as:

  • Story 20 -> 40
  • Normal 10 -> 30
  • Core 0 -> 20
  • Hard -10 -> 10
  • Unfair -20 -> 0

According to Owlcat Games, the changes have to be made to allow the company to investigate reports about check values being incorrect or overturned. This is likely the reason why players may experience a higher-than-usual failure rate when performing skill checks in the game.

Various Improvements

Patch 1.0.88 is not all about fixing quests, though. This update brought various improvements to the game as well. For one, it added a bunch of quality-of-life changes to make navigating the user interface better when using a controller.

Aside from that, players will now be informed about how many action points (AP) are required to interact with an object during combat. Furthermore, fully loaded cargo containers received some visual improvements to make them stand out.
