The 'Free Heart Engineer' Seven Joins the Grand Tournament in Brawlhalla

The 'Free Heart Engineer' Seven Joins the Grand Tournament in Brawlhalla

Brawlhalla just got a beefy content patch recently that added a bunch of new and interesting stuff - one of which is a new Legend that has a penchant for engineering.

Meet Seven

The new Legend in question is none other than Seven. Armed with her trusty spear and cannon, the "Free Heart Engineer" is capable of eliminating enemies from a considerable distance.

What's interesting about Seven's Spear is that she can alternate between fire and lightning attacks. Lightning spear attacks are quick and responsive, while fire spear strikes are slow but more damaging. On top of that, Seven can utilize her spear as a flamethrower, which can deter enemies from going near her unless they want to get burned, that is.

Her cannon is also quite interesting. Aside from shooting cannonballs, the cannon can be transformed into a mobile weapon that enables Seven to traverse the arena by riding on top of it. Furthermore, after an initial charge-up time, Seven can utilize her cannon to launch her upward, giving her enough space to shoot enemies from afar.

Players can now use Seven by downloading Update 8.0.3, which is now available on all supported platforms.

New Test Feature

The developers are letting players test out a new experimental feature in Brawlhalla called "Hold to Dodge." When players press and hold down the Dodge button, their Legends will attempt to dodge on the first available frame after hitstun.

On paper, this should help casual players escape to safety, especially if they were being hit by a string of combos from their enemies.

Those who want to try this feature out can do so in Custom Games. If everything goes according to plan, Hold to Dodge may be implemented as a standard feature soon.

Much Improved Bots

Update 8.0.3 for Brawlhalla also brought improvements to bot behavior. Bots are now more laid back or more aggressive depending on the difficulty level.

Easier bots, or those that players encounter when the game is set to Easy or Medium difficulty, can easily be overpowered without a sweat.

However, those who want a more challenging experience can set the game difficulty to Hard or Chosen. When set to these difficulty levels, players can expect the bots to utilize dash more frequently than ever before. Besides that, the bot AI has been programmed to abuse the "Weapon Starve" mechanic. Weapon Starve is a term used to refer to the act of throwing away weapon drops so that others cannot use them.
