Are you planning on completing the entire roster of survivors in Risk of Rain 2? If so, you are probably having a hard time getting the Void Fiend.
If that is the case, this guide will help you! Today, we will cover some tips on how you can unlock the Void Fiend successfully.
Survivor Profile
Survivors in Risk of Rain 2 are playable characters that possess unique abilities that suit different playstyles. Having said that, the Void Fiend is a survivor that was introduced in the "Survivors of the Void" expansion.
The Void Fiend has a passive that turns its abilities into "corrupted" versions, changing how they work on a fundamental level. For instance, the "Corrupted Trespass" prompts the Void Fiend to move forward instead of an upward angle.

How to Unlock
There are two ways to obtain the Void Fiend. The first is by defeating the alternate final boss of the game called the "Voidling." This boss packs a punch and is definitely befitting its status because this thing is so hard to defeat. You've probably tried to beat it before but to no avail.
The second is a lot more accessible and is the preferred option to take if you want to have an easier way of unlocking the Void Fiend. That option is by reaching Wave 50 in the Simulacrum.
How to Beat the Simulacrum
The Simulacrum is an alternate game mode where you battle multiple waves of monsters with increasing difficulty. As you progress through the higher waves, you can expect things to be a lot more difficult than when you started.
To reach Wave 50 successfully, you must know how the game mode works. Upon dropping onto the stage and interacting with the "Assessment Focus," the Simulacrum begins.
After defeating a single wave, you will have 10 seconds to choose a reward, then the next wave arrives. Take note that you will encounter mini-bosses every fifth wave, so make sure that you are ready when the time comes.
When you successfully eliminate 10 waves of enemies, you will be transported to another stage where you are tasked to defeat another set of monsters. During the course of the Simulacrum, you must be careful of the Void Fog because it drains a small portion of your health per second. To ensure your survival, you must be mobile at all times.
Now that you know the basics, it's time to get serious. The first 20 waves of the Simulacrum give you a general feel for what's about to come. When you're able to survive until at least wave 30, you now have some familiarity when it comes to the subsequent groups of enemies that you'll face.
Because you will encounter multiple monsters at a time, it is best that you focus on using AoE attacks. One popular combo is stacking Crowbars and Will-o'-the-Wisps to chain kills against enemies that are bunched up together.
Kiting is another strategy you can employ. The concept is simple: You move constantly while attacking enemies on occasion. It is also helpful if you use ranged weapons and abilities as they make kiting monsters much easier.
Some survivors are built to excel in the Simulacrum. For instance, Bandit's "Desperado" allows the survivor to gain a stackable buff that scales infinitely. Each stack provides Bandit with a 10% boost to its overall damage.
Another survivor you might want to use in the Simulacrum is the Engineer. The turrets and mines he can deploy can make quick work of the enemy, taking advantage of the fact that the monsters are almost always grouped together.
Once you've reached Wave 50, you will then unlock the Void Fiend!
