Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2: Fair Play Labs Addresses Ranked Mode and Other Issues in an Upcoming Patch

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, the crossover fighting game developed by Fair Play Labs where players can fight using their favorite Nickelodeon cartoon characters, is set to receive a pretty hefty update soon. This upcoming patch aims to address issues with Ranked mode, as well as implement suitable adjustments to almost every character in the game.

Ranked Mode Changes

Update 1.3 is set to make huge changes to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. Ranked Mode is getting several options to address the issues players have with the said game mode. When the patch arrives soon, Ranked Mode will follow a "best-of-three" format so that players have a chance to redeem themselves if they lose in the first round.

Those who would like to fight the same opponent again will be happy to know that the "Rematch" button is now situated at the top of the menu options in lobby matches for easy access.

In addition, players are given the ability to boot people from an online lobby. This allows those who constantly encounter annoying players to have the option of removing them from the multiplayer lobby if they so desire.

While these changes are welcome, there is still a lot to be done to improve Ranked Mode in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. According to this Redditor, there is still no way to engage in Free-for-All or 2v2 matches with friends. If the company could add this feature very soon, that would be great!

Adjustments to Campaign

When the patch drops, players will have easy access to the difficulty settings before the campaign starts. If they find that their current difficulty level is too hard to handle, they can pause the game to change the setting accordingly.

Update 1.3 will also introduce campaign save slots and the option to disable screen shakes. Those who get annoyed due to excessive screen shaking can finally disable the said feature!

Character Changes

Players can expect a ton of character changes in the upcoming patch as well. Patrick's Charge Up Air attack and Dash Attack are nerfed to give opposing players a chance to succeed, especially those with characters that do not have projectile attacks.

Garfield is a pretty strong character who can utilize incredible offense and movement to his advantage, all without using the Slime Meter or Sugar Rush. To make sure that things don't go out of hand, the company has made significant movement and food meter changes to incentivize Garfield players to play around his signature mechanics.

Jimmy Neutron needed some love, which is why some slight adjustments have been made to increase his knockout potential. His Light Forward Air attack has been given a bit more oomph, enabling players to utilize Jimmy's Laser Sword to great effect.

Other Gameplay Changes

  • To tone down low % KOs, the knockback soft cap after slime cancel was changed. The threshold was lowered from 30 to 25 and reduction increased from 50% to 65%.
  • Lowered base knockback and increased knockback growth in moves across the cast so those moves are more effective at killing at higher damage values.
  • Wall techs now take 9 frames and grant 14 frames of intangibility. You can also hold up to do a wall jump after the tech.
  • Ceiling techs intangibility increased from 26 frames (the duration of the state) to 34 frames.
  • Jump back now overrides horizontal run/dash momentum.
  • The maximum shield health, as well as the depletion and regeneration rates have been decreased by 10%.
  • Tech roll intangibility duration reduced from 28 frames to 20.
  • Perfect block is no longer bufferable.
  • Turnaround specials buffer increased to 15 frames
  • Ultimate attacks end lag is not intangible anymore
  • Decreased slime block per-frame cost from 0.8 to 0.4.
  • Time out now happens when counter is at 0 instead of 1.
  • Slime cancel freeze frames no longer affect characters who are in Land Hard state.

While Fair Play Games did not disclose a specific date, Update 1.3 might be released sometime this week.
