The Voice Reporting Feature

Picture this: You are in the midst of an intense Fortnite game when someone crosses the line with abusive behavior or inappropriate conduct. Now, Epic Games has your back with this new reporting system.

How does it work? It is simple yet robust. Capturing the last five minutes of in-game audio on a rolling basis, this feature ensures that any transgressions can be reported swiftly and accurately.

Epic Games is not pulling any punches with this feature. Voice reports are securely stored on your local device, guaranteeing privacy.

Should you choose to file a report, only the last five minutes of audio will be uploaded to Epic's servers for review by their moderators. Moreover, reports are kept anonymous, fostering a safe and supportive community environment.

Because Epic does not operate other chat services like Discord or your console's chat, Fortnite voice reporting cannot be used to report conversations there. Voice reporting is only available in Fortnite's in-game voice chat.

Customize Your Experience

Epic says players under 18 will have this feature on by default, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining a positive gaming atmosphere. However, for those over 18, Epic Games offers the flexibility to toggle the feature off in parties with friends who share similar settings.

Need a break from voice chat altogether? You can opt to turn it off entirely-although that might hinder those intense strategizing sessions with your squad!

According to The Verge, Epic's voice reporting feature is similar to tools provided by companies such as Sony and Microsoft.

Epic will also begin showing age ratings for "all first and third-party playable content" within Fortnite on Thursday, a feature the company announced in October.
