Have you been waiting for what happens next in "Arcane" after two years of waiting? Well, we have good news for you regarding the fate of its second season.
The second season of "Arcane," the Netflix series based on League of Legends, is officially in the works. The streaming platform made the announcement along with the release of its announcement trailer.
However, those hoping that the second season will be released soon may be disappointed with Netflix's announcement. This is because the next season of Arcane is due in November 2024.
Netflix's official announcement did not contain other details about what can be expected from season two. Due to this, speculation has been rife among fans of the game and the series. Despite the lack of official information, expectations have arisen regarding season two's story as well as its list of characters.
'Arcane' Season 2
Netflix has not released that many details about the second season as of writing. Jinx, one of the main characters of the series, is the lone character who makes an appearance in the announcement trailer.

According to a report by Polygon, it is expected that Ella Purnell will return to voice Jinx, while the same is expected for Hailee Steinfield, who voiced Vi, Jinx's sister and the show's other main character. Harry Potter alum Katie Leung is also expected to lend her voice once more to Caitlyn Kiramman.

What is 'Arcane'?
As mentioned earlier, "Arcane" is an animated series that is based on League of Legends. League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena game released in 2009 by Riot Games. Those who have yet to try the game can easily do so as it is free to play.
The series follows the story for Jinx (formerly known as Powder) and Vi who "find themselves on rival sides of a brewing war between the utopian city Piltover and its oppressed underbelly Zaun."
Aside from Steinfield, Purnell, and Leung, other members of the voice cast from the first season are as follows:
- Kevin Alejandro as Jayce Talis
- Jason Spisak as Silco
- Toks Olagundoye as Mel Medarda
- Harry Lloyd as Viktor
As of press time, it has not be confirmed who else from the original cast are expected to return for season two.
The first season was released in November 2021 with a total of nine episodes. By the end of the first season, the conflict between Piltover and Zaun seems imminent. It can expected that the second season of the series will continue from here.
