This particular Sims 4 update brings the weirdness to a serious new level as Sims characters want to date their own family members due to an in-game issue. The truth is this is a bug, and game designers quickly addressed the issue.
Very Uncomfortable: Sims 4 Users Report Weird Incest Bug
The latest update seems to have overlooked removing family members from a Sim's option for romantic ties. Sims 4 players expressed on Twitter how their beloved Sims is now on a spree of wanting to date their relatives.

A post on Reddit by user ProfoundEnd shares how they were horrified with seeing a Sims granny wanting to date her own son. From what it looks like, developers forgot to consider removing family members from certain 'want' events, making some Sim characters utter ridiculous incest remarks. Some users even report twin Sims wanting to date each other, and some were also horrified with the sight of their Sim dating their own mother.
As reported by IFL Science, the "wants" and "fears" system, which reveals what your characters want and hates, was reinstated a few weeks ago by Sims 4 creator EA in a free patch. Unfortunately, many players who had downloaded the update had discovered that their sims wanted a ton of incest.
PC Gamer also reports that many users who have downloaded the patch and observed the same event were quick to report the said bug. Players were asking for ways to get rid of the said scenario, which many see as an unwanted "incest mode." Of course, seeing your Sim date family members would be very weird and uncomfortable.
EA Game Designers Working to Fix the Issue ASAP
Fortunately, a quality designer for the Sims is quick to act on this recent news. The game designer from Sims wrote on Twitter that they are acknowledging that they already have an idea about the 'want to date a family member' bug. The designer assured the worried Sim fans that they are looking to get the issue fixed ASAP and that they appreciate the reports and feedback from everybody.
The August Sims 4 update was primarily run to address numerous in-game bugs that have been causing trouble for players for some time now. Many of the said bugs were first pointed out by the Sims 4 community. It is really commendable for EA to finally solve problems with drastic age fluctuations and some weird romance options for Sims. Aside from removing bugs, this update also added The Sims 4 Get Famous Expansion pack that adds a fame meter to some Sims.
Along with addressing the incest bug, game designers from EA also mentioned that they are working to fix another bug that causes Sims to age rapidly. Many are looking forward to EA fixing the issue soon to save many of us from another uncomfortable and horrible incest cutscene.
