'Not Interested:' Elon Musk Disproves Tesla Video Game Console Rumors

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is not interested in joining the video game console market.

Elon Musk may be the only billionaire in existence to take part in many online gimmicks. For some time now, we have witnessed the Tesla CEO join podcasts and shows hosted by online personalities. The man even hosted 'Meme Review' with PewDiePie once. Musk joined a Youtube Podcast by Full Send, where he discussed many things - from his favorite movies to his views on spirituality.

Musk on Joining the Video Game Console Market: 'NO'

It is not surprising that Musk tackled a boatload of different topics in this three-hour podcast. The hosts were rapidly throwing questions in the air. At one time, the hosts asked the Tesla CEO if he had any plans of joining the video game console market anytime soon. Tesla CEO was very straightforward in saying 'no.'

We all know that the billionaire is very active online, especially on Twitter, where he interacts with users almost all the time. When asked whether he was into gaming, he replied that he is currently glued to the open-world game Elden Ring. In some few minutes, Elon Musk has shared how he views the game, and the SpaceX pioneer even told the hosts about his Elden Ring builds. At some point in the podcast, Elon Musk shared that the only console game he has been playing is Halo.

According to a report from The Geek, it is clear what Musk's gaming preferences are given his current Tesla gaming aspirations. Musk has recently expressed his intentions of adding more gaming features to his Tesla car models. Musk would certainly generate news if he declared that he wants to work with Sony or Microsoft to integrate PS5 or Xbox Series X consoles into Tesla vehicles. Musk is instead focusing on getting Steam to operate on Tesla dashboards.

The Tesla CEO elaborated that releasing a new brand of the console will not have any impact on the video game console market. It was in 2001 when Xbox was first released, and it had been the last major line of gaming consoles to be released in the previous two decades.

A New Console Will Not Have Any Impact on the Market Says Musk

According to Gamerant, Musk would undoubtedly start with an audience if he did decide to develop his own video gaming system. Fans of Musk who follow him online and share his comments on social media have a cult-like following. Due to the popularity of Musk's tweets about video games, there appears to be a significant crossover between this audience and the gaming community.

At some point this year, Musk was hailed to be the richest person on the planet. Despite all that wealth that he gained, he still would not attempt to be a rival to the gaming console industry's big 3: Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony.
