Court Grants Lana Del Rey Temporary Restraining Order Against GTA Stalker

Court Grants Lana Del Rey Temporary Restraining Order Against GTA Stalker

Back on July 14, "Video Games" singer Lana Del Rey filed for a restraining order. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a man named Eric Everardo, a GTA gamer, allegedly stole her car and later on sent the singer disturbing messages.

According to documents exclusively obtained by The Blast, a judge granted the singer's request for a temporary restraining order after being ruled that Everardo is a potential threat to Lana Del Rey and her family.

Additionally, the same protective order is granted for her sister Caroline and brother Charles.

After the protective order was in place, alleged car thief and stalker Eric Everardo must be at least 100 yards away from the singer and her family, following the order citing 'based on unlawful violence, a credible threat of violence or stalking.'

Lana Del Rey Expresses Concern For Safety

"I reported Mr. Everardo to the police, and I understand that he is currently criminally prosecuted for two felonies; residential burglary and grand theft auto," the singer-songwriter states in the documents submitted to the court. "However, I also understand that he is not currently in police custody."

In the document discovered by The Blast, Lana Del Rey says that "Eric Everardo is a stalker. I have no relationship whatsoever with him." The "Young and Beautiful" singer expresses concern for her and her family's safety.

When asked about the effects of the incident on herself, the singer added, "As a result of Eric Everardo's harassment/stalking of me, I have suffered, and continue to suffer, emotional distress." She also mentions in the statement, "I am scared" of him, adding that she has "no contact with him."

Reports from Hunger mention that on the court documents that were submitted in February, the grand theft auto stalker has been to the singer's residence for two occasions now, also mentioning that Everardo also went to the extent of stealing her car, a Jaguar, making Del Rey's party filing for a number of complaints.

Later on, Everardo was arrested and charged with two felony counts of residential burglary and was also prosecuted for grand theft auto.

Earlier This Month, Lana Del Rey Stalker Sent a 'Disturbing' Letter

In an interview, Lana Del Rey shares that Eric Everardo even texted her sister Caroline between February and July. The 'Summertime Sadness' singer mentions in her submitted statements to the court that Everardo has absolutely no reason to attempt to contact her or her sister, Caroline, nor does Everardo have any reason to be approaching the singer's home.

Everardo still walked free even after several court rulings. The man still decided to return to the singer's residence earlier this month and left a mysterious bag at the property's gate containing a 'disturbing' letter mentioning Everardo's desire to see the singer again.

The protective order expires at the date of their hearing next Friday, Aug. 5.

Along with their fame, many celebrities face the problem of stalkers and their creepy agenda on a daily basis. This is not the first time a celebrity speaks up about how a crazed stalker has put them in a very dangerous situation. In 2012, singer Selena Gomez had a stalker who claimed to have had "conversations with God" about killing Gomez. Justin Bieber also has a history of dealing with problematic fans that turned into stalkers.
