So you saw The LEGO Movie about a month after The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and you were like, "Man, if only these two things could co-mingle in an interactive adventure!"
Well, you're in luck, because LEGO The Hobbit is launching today across Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PC, Wii U, PS Vita and 3DS, and based on the launch trailer it's looking like another faithful brick adaptation by Traveller's Tales.
The trailer starts in much the same way as the first movie did, with the meeting of Gandalf and Thorin. We're then treated to a look at all of the places you'll be exploring in this new adventure: The Shire, Goblin Town, Mirkwood and The Lonely Mountain.
Now, this game will only be taking place across the first two movies. But unlike when Traveller's Tales made you pay for a whole different game to experience Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with the LEGO Indiana Jones franchise, they have promised that this game will be updated to include the third movie.
"LEGO The Hobbit is based on the first two films of The Hobbit Trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, productions of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM)," today's press release stated. "Additional content based on the third film, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, is planned to be available at a future release date."
So it sounds like it'll probably be as a paid DLC, but that's still better than a whole separate full game.
Are you ready to tackle LEGO Middle Earth again, but as Bilbo Baggins this time? Check out the launch trailer and let us know in the comments.
