Elden Ring (and almost every other Soulsborne game in general) has always afforded great roleplaying freedom over the years. But maybe you didn't expect things to be this free when it comes to creating your own Tarnished.
In a move that can be considered as "Ciri taking her adoptive dad to a different universe), Elden Ring player and Redditor Fatg0d managed to bring the White Wolf himself, Geralt of Rivia, into FromSoft's The Lands Between. But this recreation isn't just about looking like Geralt, but also fighting like him, writes GameRant.
Fatg0d posted a video of the recreation in action on the Elden Ring subreddit, with it having garnered over 6000 upvotes at the time of this writing.
First off, the player dressed their Tarnished for the occasion by going for the Prisoner's Clothing top, Leather Boots, and Leather Gloves for the outfit. Next up, they equipped their character with the Banished Knight's Greatsword for the "steel sword" and the Claymore for the "silver sword," considering the latter's slanted hilt guard looks so much like Geralt's silver sword in Witcher 3.
Onto the actual Witcher fighting style, Fatg0d equipped his Geralt build with the following abilities:
-
Quickstep for quick dodging animations
-
Flame of the Redmanes to simulate Geralt's Igni sign
-
A bunch of flasks and sword incantations to stand in for Witcher potions and oils
-
Opaline Bubbletear to simulate the Quen sign
-
A lightr crossbow for ranged projectile attacks
-
Waves of Darkness to simulate the Yrden sign
-
Storm Blade to simulate the Aard sign
-
And a bunch of bombs
The resulting build basically allows "Geralt" to move almost exactly as he does in The Witcher 3 - all without having to install mods. So if you're a massive Witcher and Elden Ring fan at the same time and you play on console, you can try this build out.

Witcher x Elden Ring Crossover, Anyone?
While this Elden Ring Geralt build might sound a bit fantastical, it does make someone think of a potential crossover - considering how the White Wolf has already been seen in game universes not his own.
Back in 2018, Bandai Namco's Soulcalibur VI (a series notable for its crossover characters) featured Geralt of Rivia as a playable fighter. Their explanatio for Geralt being included involves portals, which he absolutely hates, as he says so himself. Here's the trailer for it:
But that's not all. A year later, another crossover with Monster Hunter World saw the iconic monster slayer find his way into the game's universe, once again by way of a rogue portal. It wasn't just a cameo, too, as Geralt had a few missions dedicated to him where he does what he does best: hunt monsters and get paid for it. Here is the trailer:
Considering how MHW is a Capcom property similar to Elden Ring, maybe a potential crossover is possible in the future. Maybe. But we're not holding our breath for it. It sure would be fun, though.
