Beloved content creator "Skyrim Grandma," also known in real life as Shirley Curry, has made a rather macabre request toTodd Howard and the rest of Bethesda regarding Elder Scrolls 6.
According to Curry, she expressed the desire to play the next Elder Scrolls game before she's gone from this earth. By now, you should know what that means. This was her statement when she was asked by a fan during her PAX East 2022 panel's Q&A session, writes TechRadar. The fan reportedly asked what she would say to Bethesda head honcho Todd Howard if she was able to meet him in person.
Her initial response was, "how about hi?" Then, she went to specifics. "No, I'd ask him to give me a cool game, and I'd ask him to hurry up and finish the Elder Scrolls 6. I want to play it before I die."
Curry, who has amassed almost 1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel at the time of this writing, is a very well-known individual in the Elder Scrolls community for her continuous playthrough of Skyrim. And she probably spoke on behalf of almost every other fan of the long-running franchise when she asked Bethesda to hurry up and finish ES6, because frankly, it seems to be taking way too long.
Firstly, Skyrim Grandma is not getting younger. Her health has suffered a blow when she suffered a stroke in her sleep earlier this year (via GamingBibleUK). As of now, she is recovering from the stroke and has already started uploading videos of her playthrough once more. But who knows whether her next video would be one of her last?
Secondly, the game was first teased way back in 2018 with a 30-second announcement teaser. That's over three years from now. And according to Todd Howard himself, the game is "still in the design phase" as of June 2021, as reported by Tech Times.

What Is Happening With Elder Scrolls 6?
Ever since that announcement teaser in 2018, Bethesda has stayed very, very quiet about the game - almost never letting anything leak out at all costs. As such, whatever bits of information there is on the internet about the game is almost always speculation and unconfirmed rumor.
Nevertheless, this won't stop any game publication from sharing information. VG247, for instance, reports that fans are expecting the game's setting to either be High Rock or Hammerfell based on what was shown in the 2018 trailer - the mountainous terrain, according to the fans, give it away.
Another leak involves some gameplay details and a potential release window for the game. According to GameRant, a Twitter user by the name SkullziTV claimed that anonymous sources revealed these details about Elder Scrolls 6:
-
Betrayals, marriages, and factions will matter a lot
-
There would be NO DRAGONS
-
The game is in full blown development mode, but still in the early stages
-
Target release window is 2025-2026
Let's just hope that Skyrim Grandma will still be around when this game finally comes out.
