The brand-new PlayStation Plus subscription service now has exact release dates, though customers in a few regions will get it earlier than others.
According to TechRadar, the earliest release date for Sony's new subscription service is May 23. But this only applies to Asian markets, excluding the company's hometown of Japan, with the latter getting its first crack at the service on June 1.
As for the Americas and Europe, the service targets June 13 and June 22 launch dates, respectively.
These dates were announced in a recent post on the PlayStation website. Aside from the dates, Sony also plans to expand its cloud streaming access for all the aforementioned locations (Asia, Americas, Europe, and Japan). This will now bring their cloud streaming coverage to a total of 30 markets all over the world.
To cap things off, the new PlayStation Plus' Premium tier is also going to be offered in these European countries:
- Bulgaria
- Croatia,
- Czech Republic
- Greece
- Hungary
- Malta
- Poland
- Republic of Cyprus
- Romania
- Slovenia
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan capped off the announcement by saying that all of this is intended to provide players flexible options, quality games, and better value for their subscriptions. He then thanks the extended global PlayStation community for their support and promises that there will be more details to be shared as the launch dates get closer.
