Perhaps nobody expected Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's success right now, but it is happening-and in spades, no less.
In terms of sales numbers, the new Lego Star Wars game is selling like hotcakes and is already matching, if not exceeding, another current heavyweight: FromSoftware's Elden Ring. For instance, sales of the bricky Star Wars adventure have catapulted it to the title of the fastest-selling Lego game ever, according to WCCFTech.
As of late, the Lego Star Wars game has outsold Elden Ring across all platforms, whether digital or physical sales, worldwide. In the United Kingdom, for instance (via GamesIndustry.biz), TT Games' bricky romp through the Galaxy Far, Far Away is in the first place, followed by Elden Ring, GTA V, WWE 2K22, NBA 2K22, and even Rockstar's open-world opus, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Data also reveals that most of the game's sales were digital at 61% of all units sold. Xbox is the most popular platform the game was bought on, followed by PlayStation digital sales at 34%, then PC (18%) and Nintendo Switch (7%).
But when talking about overall sales (digital plus physical retail copies), PlayStation owned the biggest chunk with 39%, followed by Xbox at 34%, the Nintendo Switch at 16%, and PC at 11%.
Steam Sales Via PC
The sorry-technical state of Elden Ring on PC notwithstanding, it was also outperformed by Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on Steam by a considerable margin. This is also not counting that PC sales for the Lego Star Wars game are the lowest.
According to a report by IGN, the bricky open-galaxy romp is now the number one game on the Top Selling page on Steam. This has reportedly ended the several weeks' worth of dominance from FromSoftware's new Soulsborne, despite only being released last Apr. 6.

'Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's' IMMENSE Success
In our review of the game, we called the new Lego Star Wars game a refreshing take on the now-iconic IP that is George Lucas' creation. We also praised it for its overall "fun," factor-something that so many modern games seem to be abandoning these days in favor of gritty, dark, realistic experiences.
And maybe that's among the many reasons this game is now rivaling or even outselling Elden Ring. Many other reviews of the game are also praising how the game retells the story of all nine mainline Star Wars films, alongside entertaining diversions that kept things interesting from Episode I through to Episode IX:
It is even seemingly bringing all fans of the Star Wars universe together-a universe whose community is known for being quite toxic. It doesn't matter whether you're an original trilogy lover who hates both the prequels and sequels or a sequel trilogy fan just trying to get some love from the old heads. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is just a fun, fun game that delivers loads of entertainment by the plastic brick bucketload.
