Here in GameNGuide, it is all about games, games, and even more games. From eSports games down to popular titles such as "Pokemon GO" and "Elden Ring," we cover them all.
However, we here in GameNGuide are more than aware that the gaming world is vast and games are aplenty. This is why we want to put the spotlight on games that you may not even know exists. Who knows? We might even give you an idea for the next game to play.
So let us introduce you to #SteamSpotlight, a series that will feature the many games available on Steam. First on the list a survivor horror game that features a semi-open world called "Darkwood."
#SteamSpotlight Feature: 'Darkwood'
For the first #SteamSpotlight feature, we put our attention on a survival horror game called "Darkwood." Released in 2017, "Darkwood" is developed by Acid Wizard Studio.
Its official website describes the game as "a top-down, free-roam, surreal horror experience with a randomized world, taking cues from classic games, where oftentimes you had to figure things out for yourself."
The "Darkwood" official website further states, "We want to enter your subconciousness and bring out your own fears, force you to think about the events or characters of 'Darkwood' and digest them in your brain long after you've stopped playing, rather than focusing on in-your-face jump scares (although you can still expect some of these)."
This survival horror game features a crafting system, day and night cycle, interactions with non-playable characters (NPCs), and even a skill system.
It should be noted that the gaming experience of the player is heavily influenced by actions of the NPCs as well as how the player reacts to requests. This means that the ending that the player can get will vary depending on decisions made.
