With Riot Game's upcoming patch 12.7, fans have been on their toes, wondering whether who among their favorite "League of Legends" Champions will get the upgrade they deserve. In Associate Game Designer Tim Jiang's Twitter account, he posted a preview of the list of LoL champions who will be getting buffs from the update.
Old-time Favorite Champions To Receive Buffs in Patch 12.7
In the tweet, we see Yone, Yasuo, Gwen, Pantheon, Wukong, Neeko, Gangplank, Kalista, Lillia, and Karthus, all getting buffs once the new patch is rolled out, according to a report by Dot Esports. Jiang explained that Riot wants to "help [shake] up the meta's dominant picks" ahead of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, especially a few champs that have been away from the spotlight for quite some time.
For instance, Gwen, The Hallowed Seamstress hasn't been quite popular in the meta ever since she was given a significant nerf in Patch 12.5. According to League stat source Gol.gg, her play rate plummeted, and she had the worst win rate of any champion. Kalista and Lillia have also suffered the same fate, with the former being picked only eight times in pro play, and the latter only once.
Another exciting pair getting buffs are the blade brothers Yasuo and Yone. This could prompt teams to build impressive combos featuring the two champions. We have seen star players pick Yasuo alongside heavy hitters like Diana, giving us fiery matches and electrifying finishes.

Zeri, Ryze, Lee Sin, and Jayce To Be Nerfed in Patch 12.7
Alongside the buffs, are nerfs for specific champions, a total of 4 to be exact. According to a separate Dot Esports report, expect Zeri, Ryze, Lee Sin, and Jayce to see a slightly lowered performance this season. This update is meant to cater to every champion at each position.
Aside from champions, certain items will also be nerfed in Patch 12.7, including Fimbulwinter, Galeforce, and Moonstone Renewer. The Time Warp tonic is the only run that will be nerfed in this patch.
Riot Games also revealed that are still a few rounds of patches that will be rolled out prior to the Mid-Season Invitational this year. According to the patch preview, Riot is "shaking up the meta's dominant picks and adding some new ones that we haven't seen."
Last season, we saw how beneficial these updates were in bringing back champions into the spotlight, with Lee Sin in the top lane, and Rumble and Morgana as junglers. Now that Zeri, Lee Sin, Ryze, and Jayce are nerfed down, we will likely see new League champions become this season's top choices in the MSI.
New VFX Updates and More
Aside from the buffs and nerfs, other changes in the new patch also include VFX updates to Leona, Shaco, and Orianna. These champions will receive new kits, abilities, and skins.
In the previous patch, we also saw a new mythic shop. There is a high possibility that we will also see some updates and see more mythic content in Patch 12.7. We are also on the lookout for some skins that are due for some major makeover.
Patch 12.7 will hit live servers on Wednesday, April 13.
