'Elden Ring' Speedrunner Beats The Game WITHOUT DYING In Under 3 Hours

An "Elden Ring" speedrunner who goes by the name niko bellic on YouTube just posted what could be one of the most impressive speed runs of any game out there.

When other players would take around three hours to fully understand what FromSoftware's open-world "Soulsborne" is all about, this player managed to finish the entire game in less time-2 hours and 35 minutes, to be specific, according to a report by DualShockers.

Now, "Soulsborne" speedruns are nothing new and are already impressive in their own right-given how these games have earned a reputation for being difficult. And this "Elden Ring" speedrun isn't too different, as the aforementioned YouTuber completed it without dying a single time.

Here is the video of the entire speedrun, if you'd like to see how this player did it:

The speedrun, as PCGamer puts it, starts like just every other playthrough of the game so far. While they didn't explicitly try to beat the tutorial boss (The Grafted Scion), they progressed through the first few moments of the game like other players. But as for the other things, niko bellic did them quite differently.

For one, they seem to have taken a direct path to the Site of Grace at Gatefront, where they'll get a hold of Torrent, their spectral horse. Getting Torrent seemed to be the most critical part of the speedrun, as it allowed the player to just speed blitz their way through the map, bypassing enemies and optional bosses along the way.

It also looks like this "Elden Ring" speedrun, unlike other game speedruns, didn't make use of major skips or glitches. But that's not even the most impressive part of their gameplay, as they are also clearly skilled in the game's combat. The player seems always to find ways to deal enough damage while not taking much themselves, and they're not using some weird trick to one-shot boss fights as other speedrunners do.

What's Next After This 'Elden Ring' Speedrun?

This impressive speedrun of FromSoftware's latest game will likely not be the last. As Eurogamer puts it, niko bellic's record might be shattered down the road as players keep discovering new tricks and routes to bypass certain areas of the game.

Other speedrunners, equipped with those aforementioned new tricks, can likely beat niko bellic's speedrun by an hour-perhaps even condensing the entire game in only several minutes. But that's the amazing thing about speedruns from a technical standpoint: it's all about finding ways to exploit the game's mechanics for your own benefit.

What Is A Speedrun?

In gamer parlance, a speedrun involves finishing through an entire game in far less time than it would take if it was played normally. The scene can actually be quite competitive, too, as there are speedrun competitions often happening all around the world featuring all kinds of games.

Do you think you have the skills to blitz through "Elden Ring" and beat niko bellic's record?
