"Elden Ring" players on PC look like they're struggling to beat Godrick the Grafted, the game's first main boss.
According to data from the Steam achievement list, it looks like just 55% of all "Elden Ring" players on PC have beaten Godrick and won the corresponding achievement called Shardbearer Godrick, reports GamesRadar.
The only other boss that more players have beaten is Margit the Fell Omen, the only mandatory boss and not an actual major one (67.1% achievement rate). As such, this has made Godrick one of the most detested bosses in FromSoftware's first open-world "Soulsborne," as he might've sent a lot of players into gamer rages more than once.
However, those who played "Elden Ring" on PlayStation seem to have had a far better chance against Godrick. According to data from PSNProfiles, 66.15% of all players (likely including PS4 and PS5) have beaten the boss so far.
Either way, the game seems to be hogging all of the major gaming headlines right now with just how critically acclaimed it has been. Many publications have given "Elden Ring" an almost perfect review score, mostly praising FromSoftware's great implementation of its "Soulsborne" mechanics in an open-world format.
Why Are Gamers Struggling With Godrick?
According to TechRadar, this might be because the game has been more commercially accessible to players, even those who have never tried "Soulsborne" games before.
These games have earned a reputation for being brutally difficult over the years. And while FromSoftware tried to ensure that "Elden Ring" will be "more accessible" to players, it is still proving to be a massive challenge-more so for newbies who have never tried the genre. There's also the fact that the game has no immediate "easy mode" option, to which "Souls" creator Hidetaka Miyazaki felt "apologetic" about how people find "Elden Ring" too hard (via GameRant).

'Bad' PC Controls Could Be A Reason
Upon the release of "Elden Ring" on PC, it was revealed that the game suffered from massive performance issues that forced FromSoftware to acknowledge it. But that's not why PC players might be struggling with major boss fights-it could be the controls.
This post on the "Elden Ring" subreddit features a PC player stating how the game's mouse and keyboard controls are sub-par, calling it "the worst console to PC port in terms of controls" that they've ever seen:
Commenters on the post seem to agree with the OP. But maybe this could also explain why PlayStation players have had more success with Godrick on the console: "Soulsborne" games have always been designed around controllers and not mouse and keyboard controls. But that won't matter much to some people still playing "Elden Ring" on PC because the game's quality remains sub-par anyway.
