'Call of Duty Vanguard' Gets Ranked Play for Season 2

'Call of Duty Vanguard' Gets Ranked Play for Season 2

Call of Duty League announced in a video uploaded on their YouTube channel that Ranked Plays will be included in Call of Duty: Vanguard starting with its Ranked Play Beta during the game's Season 2.

The purpose of the new multiplayer game mode, based on the video, is to let the players carve their path towards competitive Call of Duty.

In Ranked Plays, according to InsideSport, players will participate in competitive 4v4 Call of Duty League-styled HardpointSearch and Destroy, and Control matches. These game modes were also used in the professional Esports league itself.

In Hardpoint, teams will rush to secure a "hardpoint" on the map while defending it from their opponents. Teams will gain a score every second if they are holding down a hardpoint.

In Search and Destroy, the attacking team will bring the bomb towards a designated bomb site while the defending team will defuse it. A team will score a point if the bomb is successfully detonated or defused.

In Control, one team will rush to attack the control points that the other team is defending before time runs out. Gaining control of these points or successfully defending them will earn them a win.

According to Destructoid, players who will participate in the Ranked Plays can use the same weapons, settings, and maps that the Call of Duty League currently has.

This means that it will also have weapon and map restrictions, such as not allowing shotguns and light machine guns (LMGs) in matches.

After participating in five Skill Evaluation matches, according to Comicbook, they will earn a starting Skill Rating. They will be ranked under one of the seven different Skill Divisions - ContenderSpecialistAdvancedExpertEliteMaster, and Challenger - with five Tiers each.

If a player wins a match in Ranked Play, they will receive one Skill Rating Point that they can track in their Skill Rating number to see their progress. They can also participate in Ladder Events twice a week to increase their Skill Rating Points.

At the end of every Ranked Play season, the Skill Divisions will be reset, giving players a chance to compete in a new set of matches.

They will also receive an animated Emblem that will show their final Skill Division placement for the season and rewards such as weapon blueprints, camos, calling cards, Operator skins, and charms that they can use in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone.

According to DBLTap, Treyarch plans to include an eight Skill Division later this year that will showcase the top 250 competitive players in an in-game Leaderboard.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be one of the several Call of Duty games that received a Ranked Play.

The competitive multiplayer game mode was first introduced in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and it was designed like Call of Duty: Black Ops II's League Play.

The Ranked Play Beta is expected to be released on Call of Duty: Vanguard on Feb. 17.
