Nintendo announced a new Kirby game called "Kirby and The Forgotten Land" during their recent Nintendo Direct Livestream yesterday.
Along with the announcement, they also showed a trailer revealing the world that the players will venture inside the 3D platforming game and a new ability that Kirby will be using called the "Mouthful Mode."
This ability, according to NME, lets Kirby inhale and swallow any real-world inanimate object that he sees.
Once he swallows the object, he will gain access to a new action that he can use on his journeys in a world that combines nature and civilization, making the platforming in its areas more enjoyable.

If he inhales a car, he can use the Car Mouth's ability to travel from one place to another. If he inhales a vending machine, he has the Vending Mouth ability that can shoot juice cans from his mouth.
If he inhales a traffic cone, he can use the Cone Mouth to pierce any breakable object. And if he stored large amounts of water, he can use the Water-Balloon Mouth ability to shoot it to any surface.
He can still swallow enemies to copy their abilities, all of which, according to Attack of the Fanboy, can be upgraded and evolved in Waddle Dee's Weapon Shop located in Waddle Dee Town. This new location will act as Kirby's central base.
According to Polygon, the town can be evolved as Waddle Dees are rescued from the menacing Beast Pack, unlocking more available buildings.
Along the way, not only will he have new abilities such as Drill and Ranger, but Kirby will also have Elfilin on his side to help him uncover the reason behind the Waddle Dee kidnappings.
A 'Mouthful' of Memes
After Nintendo released the trailer for Kirby and The Forgotten Land during their Nintendo Direct Livestream, several people on social media responded with memes using screenshots showing Kirby's new "Mouthful Mode" ability.
According to Gamesradar, one Twitter user posted a screenshot of Kirby's Cone Mouth with a caption telling that the form shares a similarity with the logo of the VLC media player.
Another Twitter post showed Kirby's Car Mouth with a caption similar to that from a 2004 Anti-Piracy public service announcement, while another showed an edited photo containing Kirby in his Vending Mouth form and Patrick Star holding money in front of him.
Finally, another tweet illustrated referencing the "Slaps Roof of Car" meme featuring Car Mouth Kirby, King Dedede, and Elfilin.
Kirby and The Forgotten Land is set to be released on March 25 for the Nintendo Switch.
Aside from the game, the recent Nintendo Direct also announced other new games for the handheld console, such as Nintendo Switch Sports, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Mario Strikers: Battle League, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
