According to Nintendo Life, Kao will return to the aforementioned video game platforms after two decades to embark on a new adventure and face new challenges.

This time, according to Pro Game Guides, he will navigate through various 3D locations ranging from a forest to an icy mountain to the insides of a volcano, jumping platforms, and obstacles, and glide through pathways, as well as breaking mystery boxes, while unveiling several secrets, in order to find his missing sister, Kaia, while seeking for answers regarding his long-lost father.
