It is time for Trainers of Pokemon Go to rock and roll and rise to the top as the open-world augmented reality will have its "Mountains of Power" event as part of their ongoing Seasons of Power.

The said limited timed event will give them the opportunity to catch Rock and Steel-type Pokemon, all of which they will encounter either in the wild or in Raids.

Aside from that, they will also get a 1/2 walking distance bonus in order to earn heart with their Pokemon buddy while walking with them.

What Pokemon that They will Encounter

During the Mountains of Power event, which according to a post in the game's website, will start from January 7th at 10:00 AM, local time, and will last until January 13th at 8:00 PM, local time, several Rock and Steel-type Pokemon will be appearing in the wild more frequently.

According to CNet, the said Pokemon include Geodude, and Nosepass, as well as Zubat, Machop, Slugma, and Barboach. If they are lucky enough, they might encounter not only their Shiny counterparts, but also Onix and Ferroseed, as well as their Shiny versions

Those who are playing Pokemon Go for the first time during the Mountains of Power will might encounter a Shiny Slugma.

Aside from those that will be appearing on the wild, Trainers will also encounter Rock and Steel-type Pokemon in Raids during the Mountains of Power event.

According to Comicbook, Alolan Geodude, Onix, Beldum, and Bronsor will be appearing in the 1-Star Raids, while Heatran will be appearing in the 5-Star Raids. On the other hand, Ursaring, Donphan, Medicham, and Absol will be appearing in the 3-Star Raids.

On the other hand, Mega Aerodactyl, the Mega Evolution of the Flying/Rock-type Fossil Pokemon, will be appearing in Pokemon Go during the event's Mega Raids.

If they are lucky enough, they will might encounter their Shiny versions during the said Raids, with the exception of Ursaring, Donphan, and Medicham.

Finally, Trainers who are doing the event-exclusive Field Research Task will be rewarded with an encounter with the Alolan Geodude and Slugma, as well as their Shiny Versions and Mawile, if they are lucky enough.

They will also have a chance to have an encounter with Mawhile, as well as Beldum, after completing a set of Timed Research Tasks, where they will also earn Buddy Candy while hatching Pokemon Eggs.

The Mountains of Power event is one of the events in Pokemon Go that Niantic announced for the month of January. Later this month, it will host a Kanto Power Plant-inspired event where they will catch Electric and Steel-type Pokemon in the wild and in the Raids.

This month will also have its first two Community Days, with Spheal appearing in the game today, January 6th, while Bulbasaur, the Grass-type Pokemon from the Kanto region, will be appearing in the Community Day Classic, which will happen on January 22nd.
