In Icarus, players will not only do several tasks such as gathering resources, crafting materials and equipment, building shelters, and defending themselves from wild animals in order for them to survive in the game, but they will also need to partake in Prospect Missions in order for themselves to progress.
One of them if the "Headstone: Geo-Survey" Prospect Mission, where they need to find the locations in the Forest biome where they will setup the Geo-Stations and the Uplink Transmitter.
Preparations
Much like other Prospect Missions in Icarus, before taking the "Headstone: Geo-Survey," they need to prepare the equipment that they will use, especially while traversing the Forest biome, where it has lots of wild animals.
According to Techraptor, they will need to craft a bow with its arrows and a knife. If they unlocked a higher Tier in the game's tech tree, they will gain access to even better bows like the composite bow, as well as better arrows and knives.
They will also need to craft bandages in order to heal themselves in case the wild animals attack them, as well as cloth armor for additional defence.
They will also need to make the parts for their portable shelter and the bedroll, which will also act as a spawn point. Their portable shelter can also protect themselves against the animals that are lurking in the said biome.
Once they prepared the equipment needed, they will need to hop in the dropship, and take the mission. Afterwards, they will drop in the area within the point G15.
Setting Up for the Geo-Survey
Once they are in the drop-off point and open their map, according to eip.gg, they will see at least four icons in the area within J14, telling them where are the Supply Crates that they need to interact.
Along the way, they will collect several items such as oxides, which they can either use immediately to give themselves an oxygen supply or can be used to put oxygen inside their Oxygen Bladders, and berries, which they can eat on the spot to quickly avoid the "Hunger" status debuff.
They can also hunt down wild animals for their meat, which they can cook for food once they setup a campfire, and leather, which they can use as materials for several equipment such as cloth armors and waterskins.
Once they are in the point, they will go first to the Point Beta, which is in the southwest, by going to their right when the path into the valley was cut off by a sharp cliff. From there, they will see the Supply Crate, which contains the first Geo-Station.
Once they put the said quest item in their inventory, they deploy it immediately in the same area by aligning the green outline with the yellow outline.
Once the first Geo-Station for the Prospect Mission is deployed, they will go to the next point, the Point Alpha, which is in the north.
They can either travel straight towards north or travel to the west until the saw a cliff formation, which looks like a ramp.
They can follow this path going south, then they will go east until they saw a lake. From there, they can set-up a temporary camp, along with a bedroll and campfire, as well as cook meat and fish that will serve as their food for their ongoing journey.
Once they have their temporary rest, and establish a spawn point, they will go towards the north of the lake, where the Point Alpha is located.
Another way to go towards the said point is by taking a path going north after travelling from the east of a mini-valley. They will follow said path until they are separated from the area by a rock wall on their right.
Then, they will clear a spotty ramp, where they will make a couple of small hops from the two rocks. After climbing said ramp, they will travel towards the said point.
Much like the first one, they will interact the second Supply Crate to get the second Geo-Station, then they will deploy it by aligning the green and yellow outlines.
Once they deployed the said Geo-Station, they will need to travel towards the last point, the Point Gamma.
They can either travel around the ridges until they get to the said point, or take a ramp-like slope within J15. Once they are in the middle of the said slope, they can either climb it up by making small jumps, or walk down into a valley, then travel east.
Much like the first two Geo-Stations, they will collect the third one in the third Supply Crate, then deploy it after aligning the green and yellow outlines.
Once they set-up the final Geo-Station, they will need to build their second temporary shelter-slash-spawn point, then they will go towards the center of the point J14, which is a lake. Then, they go towards the north until they saw another Supply Crate, which contains the Uplink Transmitter.
They will interact to it in order to collect the said item. From there, they deploy it, then activate it to begin its transmission. However, wild animals will slowly approach them to attack the Uplink Transmitter. Because of this, they will need to build defenses around it in a form of a small house with a window.
Once they built the said defenses, they will go inside to see if the animals will attack or just wandering around. Once they did the latter, they will quietly crawl out and run towards the drop-off point to ride in the dropship, and end the mission.
If they did the former, they need to prepare to counterattack against waves of wolf packs. While attacking, they must look out for the walls of their defenses, as they might crumble if they are not repaired. If that will happen, they should have their wood repair hammer ready.
Once they clear all of the said waves, much like the first one, they will run back to the dropship to end the Prospect Mission.
