'Pokemon Go' January 2022 Events Guide: What Pokemon will be Appearing in Spotlight Hours, Community Day, and More

Aside from the New Year's Event, Niantic recently announced that Pokemon Go will have its monthly Spotlight Hours and Community Day this incoming January of 2022, including the Pokemon that will be appearing on those said events.

Aside from that, the developers of the augmented reality open-world game will also have events that players can participate for rewards, including possible Pokemon encounters.

What to Expect

Within the month of January, players will have the opportunity of catching Pokemon that will be in Pokemon Go's Spotlight Hours.

This means that they will be appearing in the wild more frequently on a specific date from 6:00 PM, local time, to 7:00 PM, local time, no matter where the Trainers are in the world.

The first Pokemon that will be in the said Spotlight Hour, according to Attack of the Fanboy, is Solosis, a Psychic-type Pokemon that can evolve into Reuniclus after using 125 Solosis Candies.

Catching said Pokemon during its appearance in the event, which will be in January 4th, will also reward them with a x2 Transfer Candy bonus.

However, considering that it will be appearing in the game for the first time, Solosis' Shiny version will not be appearing for those who are lucky enough to encounter it.

Next, Diglett will be appearing in the Spotlight Hour on January 11th, bringing with it a x2 Catch Stardust bonus for those who caught it in the wild. If they are lucky enough, they will encounter its Shiny version.

Other Pokemon that will be in the Spotlight Hour, according to Bleeding Cool, include the Electric-type Cheering Pokemon duo, Plusle and Minun, which will be appearing in Pokemon Go more often in January 18th and 25th, respectively. The two will also bring in a x2 Catch Candy and Transfer Candy bonuses.

Aside from the Spotlight Hour, Niantic also announced that Spheal, the Ice/Water-type Clap Pokemon, will be appearing in Pokemon Go's first Community Day for the year 2022.

According to a post in the game's website, the said Pokemon will appearing more frequently in the wild on January 16th, from 11:00 AM, local time, to 5:00 PM, local time.

During the said event, they if they evolve their Spheal into Sealeo, then into a Walrein, it will learn the Powder Snow Fast Attack and the Icicle Spear Charged Attack.

Other Upcoming Events

Aside from the incoming New Year's Event, the Spotlight Hour, and the Community Day, Niantic also announced other incoming events for Pokemon Go this coming January of 2022.

This include the Mountains of Power, which lets its Trainers journey through the mountains that were found in Johto and Sinnoh regions, and encounter Pokemon that are native there, from January 7th at 10:00 AM, local time, to January 13th at 8:00 PM, local time.

They can also participate in an in-game event where they will encounter, and catch, Electric and Steel-type Pokemon that will be appearing in the wild more frequently from January 19th at 10:00 AM, local time, to February 1st at 10:00 AM, local time. All of these will happen during Pokemon Go's ongoing Season of Heritage.
