Aside from surviving by gathering resources, crafting equipment, building shelter, and defending themselves from harsh weather conditions and attacks from wild animals, players of Icarus also need to take several Prospect Missions in order to progress in the multiplayer online survival game.

One of them is the "Payday: Extraction" Prospect Mission, which lets them explore the Arctic biome in order to find, excavate, and mine the Exotic deposits that are hidden under the sheet of rock and snow.

Preparations

Much like other Prospect Missions in Icarus, players must first prepare several equipment needed in order to complete Payday: Extraction.

Aside from the basic ones, they will also need equipment that involves crafting materials as the said mission will focus more on this in-game element.

Before going to the Arctic biome, according to eip.gg, they must prepare a bow with its arrows, a knife, and a pickaxe, as well as a bedroll, which will act as a temporary spawn point if they set it up inside a temporary shelter.

They will also need to unlock several blueprints under certain Tiers in the game's tech tree.

For the Tier 2, they need to unlock the blueprints for the Crafting Bench, Anvil Bench, and the Stone Surface, while for the Tier 3, they need to have the blueprints for the Machining Bench, Biofuel Composter, and the Biofuel Generator.

For the Tier 4, they will need to unlock the blueprints for the Electric Furnace, as well as the Radar and the Extractor, which are the items needed for this mission.

Once they have the equipment and blueprints ready, they can now proceed with clearing the Payday: Extraction Prospect Mission.

Mining for Materials

The next thing that they need to do in the Payday: Extraction is to gather for resources to craft the equipment needed. Considering that the majority of the said resources that will be used are metals like iron, copper, aluminum, and gold, they must mine in caves within Icarus.

According to PC Invasion, the best caves where they can mine for the said resources are those within the point I10, J10, K14, L10, and M12.

But they need to keep in mind that while threading inside the caves to mine, they are likely to caught the Pneumonia Status Down, therefore they will need to have a reserve Oxygen Bladders that they can install inside their EnviroSuits.

As for silica ores, which they will also use in materials such as the Concrete Mix, they will just mine it from open fields.

They will also need to gather sticks and wood as not only they would use it for their temporary shelter, but also to craft Tree Saps and for Biofuel.

Once they got the resources needed, they can now craft for materials. For the Electronic Tools, which they can be done on the Machining Bench, they will need 1 Refined Gold (2 Gold Ores), 3 Copper Ingots (2 Copper Ores), 2 Organic Resins, (1 Wood and 1 Oxite) and 2 Epoxies (2 Sulfur and 4 Tree Saps/4 Crushed Bones).

Once they crafted at least 60 pieces of Electronic Tools, they will need this to craft the Fabricator, which also need 8 Steel Ingots, 30 Steel Screws, 40 Aluminum Ingots, 30 Concrete Mixes, and 8 Carbon Fibers.

For the ingots, they will need to put a Steel Bloom (for the Steel Ingot) or an Aluminum Ore (for the Aluminum Ingot) inside the Concrete Furnace, while for the Steel Screws, they need to put a Steel Ingot on a Machining Bench, and for the Concrete Mixes, they need to put the materials inside the Cement Mixer.

For the Radar, which can be done on the Fabricator, they need at least 10 pieces of Electronic Tools, 12 Steel Ingots, 8 Steel Screws, 2 Glasses, and 12 Composites.

For the Glasses, they need to place at least 1 piece of Silica inside the Concrete Furnace, while for the Composites, they need to craft first the Composite Paste (2 Iron Ores, 1 Silica, 1 Organic Resin, and 1 Gold Ore) by placing the materials in the Material Processor. Once they got at least 1 Composite Paste, they will need to place it inside the Electric Furnace.

Finally, for the Extractor, which can also be done in the Fabricator, they will need 5 Electron Tools, and 20 Iron Ingots.

Clearing the Mission

After they have crafted the materials, they will set out to the Arctic biome, then build a temporary shelter that will also act as a spawn point. From there, they will craft the Fabricator first before using it to make the Radar.

Afterwards, they will set it up outside of their shelter in order to start scanning for the area.

From there, they will see a progress bar in its screen. Once they finished scanning, they will see a yellow circular outline in their map, telling them where should they go next, which is under the area between J11 and J12.

Once they are in the area, they will set up the Radar again to do a scan, until an icon will be revealed in the map, as well as cracks on the ground in the said area.

From there, they will build another shelter, where they will set-up another Fabricator in order to craft the Extractor.

Once they made it, they will set it up at the marked location, but in order to activate it, they need to build a Biofuel Composter, which can be powered by placing Biofuel Cans. They will need at least Biofuel Cans to power up the Extractor.

Once they set everything up, they will activate the Excavator in order to dig up the area and excavate the Exotic deposits, which is the requirement in order to clear the mission. Once they got the said minerals from the Excavator, they will head back to the dropship, completing the Prospect Mission.
