Speculated Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Feature Reportedly Confirmed

Samsung has successfully launched the Galaxy S8 and has been available on the market for over a few weeks. While some consumers who were dismayed by the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery issues moved on and purchased the S8, there are still people who prefer to wait for the next iteration of Samsung's Note series. There have been several rumors floating about some of the features of the Galaxy Note 8 and one was just recently confirmed.

Speculations of a dual-camera setup were previously linked with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, but due to some unforeseen costs, the idea was reportedly scrapped. Park Kang-ho, a Daishin Securities analyst, says "although Samsung did not officially announce the adoption of dual cameras (for the Galaxy S8), it is inevitable to feature the cameras." According to the Korea Herald, the dual-camera technology "stole the spotlight during this year's Mobile World Congress." The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature the new camera setup when it launches later this year.

The dual-camera trend has already seen several Chinese mobile phone manufacturers jump on board. Brands like Vivo, Oppo, and Huawei have integrated the new camera setup with most of their flagship models. Reports also claim that some of the best-selling mobile phones in China last quarter had dual-cameras. These models included Huawei Mate 9, Huawei Mate 9 Pro, Vivo Xplay 6, and the Apple iPhone 7. The Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to sport a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto shooter with 3X zoom.

Samsung has not officially made any announcement about the Galaxy Note 8, but market experts believe that the Korean smartphone maker will adapt the dual-camera setup. According to industry analysts, Apple is already one step ahead of the competition when it installed two image sensors on its iPhone 7 Plus. Rumors have already started that the iPhone 8 will flaunt an even better setup this time around. Samsung is expected to adapt or innovate in order to compete with its biggest rival, says BGR

Meanwhile, another report from Gamenguide has indicated that consumers will have to wait a bit longer for the Galaxy Note 8. According to sources, Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy Note 7R first. The Note 7R features the same specifications and design as Note 7 last year but comes with a smaller battery capacity. It is also speculated to retail for a 50 percent lesser price than the original model.
