Last year, Capcom gave fighting game fans a short video trailer for their crossover fighter "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite". The newest entry for their long-running series obviously surprised many fans who have been asking the developer for a sequel. After its official reveal, the company has continued to remain silent about its development and roster. Speculations have spread among the gaming community but a supposed leak might have revealed some of the game's new characters.
A NeoGAF user called Rikurikumore has reportedly shared the news about "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite". According to the forum user, the Capcom side will feature returning characters Dante from "Devil May Cry", and Frank West from "Dead Rising". Game Rant also notes that the user declared Marvel's side to feature characters from the X-Men. It has been rumored that the game will not feature any characters from that particular series due to licensing issues, but other speculations continue to report that they will be part of the sequel.
Marvel has been obviously busy with its Marvel Cinematic Universe given the characters they have already revealed for "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite". Analysts have indicated that licensing issues made it difficult for the developer to include characters from the X-men series. On the other hand, Dante's and Frank West's inclusion is somewhat already expected since they were part of the last installment's roster.
The NeoGAF user did not only focus on the characters included in the "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite" roster but also shared some of the developer's plan for the fighting game. It seems that the developer plans to reveal more gameplay footage this E3 2017. The user also claims that the X-men characters might be unveiled during the EVO 2017 tournament or this year's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
So far, the characters officially confirmed for "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite" are Ryu, Mega Man, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America and Morrigan, says Gamenguide. However, if the speculations are true, then fans only have few weeks left until the developers reveal more details about the crossover fighting game.
