Nintendo Switch still boasts hardware that can support more games that have already come to the hybrid console including "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." While a number of exclusives are expected to come to the console such as "Arms" and "Splatoon 2," such is the developer trend these days for porting more games from previous platforms unto the latest console. In fact, some of the Wii U libraries may be making their second home on the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch vs Wii U Controls
Motion control was not the focal point of the touchscreen-centric Wii U. As an advantage, the Nintendo Switch supports motion functionality as found in the Joy-Coy controllers as well as the Pro controller setup. The console also has the ability to support Wii U controllers for fine-tuned aiming and unique gameplay that are not possible on competing platforms.
As for the Nintendo Switch control schemes, the console with all its removable controllers and the built-in screen still supports a traditional control scheme. The Nintendo Switch still features a d-pad, face buttons, shoulder buttons and analog sticks for gameplay analogous to the PS4 and Xbox One but can be taken on the go.
Porting acclaimed Wii U games like "ZombiU" and "Pikmin 3" on the Nintendo Switch may lose some of its functionality played on a traditional control scheme such as when "ZombiU" was ported on the Xbox One, but the transition would not be impossible, Digital Trends reported.
New Bundle Packs Extra Storage For More Games
In other news, a new Nintendo Switch bundle has arrived. Gamestop is currently offering a new Nintendo Switch bundle for an extra couple of bucks. The grey or neon Joy-Con is included in the pack along with "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." Rounding up the bundle is a 128GB memory card for a more expansive game library.
The Nintendo Switch bundle costs $499.99 but you may save around $25-$30 against buying all items separately, Shack News reported. Note that the Nintendo Switch supply is currently scarce at this point. The Gamestop website noted that shipping for their consoles will begin on May 5.
